Uber launches Uber Drift in Japan and rides are super limited

To celebrate the release of Forza Horizon 6, Uber is offering a special, temporary ‘Uber Drift‘ experience in Japan.

The release of Forza Horizon 6 has finally given many car enthusiasts what they’ve been waiting for: a chance to immerse themselves in Japan’s famous drift scene. This desire was sparked for many by the movie The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Because of the popularity of drifting in movies like Tokyo Drift, many travel agencies now offer trips to Tokyo that include the chance to drive cool, classic Japanese cars around the city.

Uber is now joining the fun with its new service, Uber Drift, which does exactly what you’d expect.

Uber Drift launches in Japan

For a short period, Uber is letting visitors to Japan experience the thrill of drifting! As part of their Go Anywhere program, Uber Drift offers professional drifting sessions with skilled drivers at the famous Mobara Twin Circuit.

Uber Drift will be available from June 3rd to July 1st. You can book starting at the end of May. Each 90-minute session costs JPY30,000, which is about $190 or £140.

You don’t need to be a skilled driver like Han or Takumi from Initial D! Professional Formula Drift drivers will take you on an exciting ride in real street racing cars, so you can just sit back and enjoy the experience.

You can book this experience through the Uber app, but it’s only available if you’re in Japan. Keep in mind that spaces are limited and it’s quite expensive.

Even if you can’t participate in real-life drifting, you can still enjoy the thrill of Japanese drift culture in Forza Horizon 6, which features a selection of official Formula Drift cars.
