Grim Dawn Fangs of Asterkarn expansion launches on July 23

Crate Entertainment revealed that a new expansion for the action RPG Grim Dawn, called Fangs of Asterkarn, will be released on PC on July 23rd.

Fangs of Asterkarn is the final expansion for the action RPG Grim Dawn, and it’s available now on Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store for $18.99. This expansion adds a huge new area – twice the size of the game’s previous expansions – along with the Berserker class and a challenging new Ascendant game mode. Grim Dawn first launched on PC (Steam) in 2016, following a successful Kickstarter campaign and several years in Early Access.

Crate Entertainment is thrilled to announce that Fangs of Asterkarn, the final expansion for the popular action RPG Grim Dawn, will be released on July 23rd, 2026. It will be available on Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store.

Crate Entertainment promised that Grim Dawn wouldn’t end with a whimper, but with a powerful statement, and Fangs of Asterkarn delivers on that promise. This expansion is a significant addition to the already long-lived and popular action RPG, offering the biggest update yet. It includes a brand-new region twice the size of previous expansions, a shapeshifting Berserker class, and the Ascendant mode, which transforms the entire campaign into a challenging endgame experience for even the most optimized characters.

As a huge fan, I’m so excited about the new Asterkarn expansion! The explorable area is massive – over 6 square kilometers, which is way bigger than both Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods combined. Seriously, it’s 190% the size of Ashes of Malmouth and 250% as big as Forgotten Gods! And the environments look incredible, ranging from snowy mountains to stunning hot springs. Plus, it’s packed with secrets to find and tons of new loot – including epic items, unique legendaries, and monster-specific items. I can’t wait to dive in and explore everything!

Players venturing into the latest update will find new ways to cleanse the corrupted land of Asterkarn, expanding on the already popular gameplay of Grim Dawn. The new Berserker Mastery lets players transform into powerful forms, bringing the total number of dual-class combinations to 45. Plus, a customizable potion system allows for even more unique character builds tailored to each player’s preferred style. And that’s just the beginning!

With the launch of the major new expansion, Grim Dawn is also receiving a free update (version 1.3) to improve the player experience. A key part of this update is a redesigned and expanded Stash, making it easier to manage your items. Version 1.3 also includes improvements to the user interface, the addition of WASD controls, HDR lighting, more detailed item descriptions, game balancing adjustments, and bug fixes.
