Alexey Pertsev, the developer behind Tornado.cash, has submitted an appeal to the Court of Appeal in s-Hertogenbosch following his conviction for money laundering charges on Tuesday, according to a court representative.

As a researcher, I’ve discovered that the initial hearing in this case might not take place for several months. Regrettably, the court has yet to render a decision regarding the approval of the appeal.

If Pertsev prefers, he can request to serve out his 64-month sentence at home while waiting for the appeal trial instead of reporting to prison right away following last Tuesday’s verdict.

Tornado Cash doesn’t hinder individuals with ill-gotten gains from cleaning up their assets. The court views me, as the defendant, responsible for the money laundering activities alleged based on this reasoning.
