There’s a new Honkai game on the way with characters from Star Rail and Impact 3rd, and it sure does look like a Pokemon clone

It’s unclear how they manage to find the time, but during a live broadcast today, HoYoVerse unveiled another game, this time within the Honkai universe. Unlike their previous titles, it doesn’t seem to be set in a new world; instead, it appears to be another installment of Honkai, though it currently lacks an official name. A brief teaser was released for the game, simply referred to as “a brand new Honkai game.” However, the presence of characters like Kiana and Blade suggests that it’s indeed a continuation of the series.

As a gaming enthusiast, I must clarify something intriguing. Unlike the characters from Star Rail, I hail from Impact 3rd, one of the main protagonists to be precise. It appears there might be a connection, as Blade is playable in Star Rail. This could be a hint at some crossover event happening. Now, regarding the teaser for this game, it’s not exactly showcasing any gameplay yet; instead, it’s just a beautifully rendered cutscene. However, given the lack of originality in the visual style, my guess is that it might be following in the footsteps of a Pokémon-style game.

Upon Kiana’s arrival, she’s joined by an unusually jelly-like canine creature that leaves a lasting impression. Accompanying Blade is a more sophisticated version of the same type of pet, and the two dogs eagerly confront each other for a skirmish. Other characters are also seen with their own animals, giving off the vibe that HoYoVerse is attempting to capitalize on Pokemon’s lucrative franchise in this manner.

It seems quite plausible that the game may be called Honkai: Nexus Anima, given that Star Rail Universe has discovered multiple Twitter accounts with that name being registered. We’ll just have to keep an eye out for any official confirmation on this matter.

It appears that HoYoVerse isn’t limiting itself to Pokemon-like games, as hints and social media activity suggest the development of a potential game similar to Stardew Valley. This is another example of their hectic schedule! It seems they aim to produce a game for every genre.
