The Evangelion studio’s Gundam anime finally gets a release date and streaming home

An eagerly awaited Gundam series will be available across over 240 nations on Amazon’s Prime Video starting from April.

According to an announcement by Amazon, the excitingly named Gundam GQuuuuuuX will begin streaming on April 8, a title that’s reminiscent of placeholder terms often used in computer programming.

For years, Gundam has been a well-established franchise, but this upcoming project has generated significant excitement. The reason behind the buzz is that it’s being created by an exceptional team comprising Studio Khara, known for Rebuild of Evangelion, and Sunrise, the masterminds behind Gundam. In a statement, Tsurumaki expressed his excitement about directing the latest addition to the Mobile Suit Gundam series, titled Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. He mentioned that he was particularly pleased because FLCL, another popular title in the series, had gained international acclaim, bringing him great joy.
