As a seasoned Honkai Star Rail player with countless hours under my belt, I must say that Jiaoqiu has become one of my all-time favorites! This healer-turned-debuffer is not your typical support character, and his life story adds an extra layer of depth to his gameplay.
In this context, Foxian is known as the private physician and advisor of General Feixiao from Xianzhou Yaoqing. The medical institution where Jiaoqiu studied stands out because he advocates that food serves as the most effective remedy. However, his strategy and team primarily focus on incinerating or poisoning any Honkai Star Rail adversaries. This healer is willing to employ various methods to cure Feixiao and safeguard the Xianzhou Alliance, regardless of potential risks to his own safety or integrity in the process.
Jiaoqiu’s Gameplay Style Explained
As a gamer, I’d recommend piling up debuffs on enemies with Jiaoqiu as quickly as possible! To do this, use his skill to deal Fire Damage and obtain one stack of Ashen Roast. This means that every enemy you hit will suffer Burn over time, and you can accumulate more stacks with any normal attacks, skills, or even the ultimate. The more stacks you have, the more damage each enemy takes! His ultimate ability also inflicts Fire Damage and Ashen Roast on all enemies, boosting the damage of his ultimate move.
Best Light Cones
As a fan, I’ve found that while Jiaoqiu is primarily known as a “Healer,” his structure and abilities make him exceptionally effective as a Debuffer. With his E2 upgrade, he can even double as another DPS character in Honkai Star Rail. Initially, the first Light Cones are suitable for a more versatile build, but before the Tutorial Mission Starts, it’s best to employ Jiaoqiu in a supportive role. Here are his optimal strategies:
| Those Many Springs (5-Star) | Jiaoqiu’s Signature Ligh Cone is undoubtedly the best choice for Support or DMG builds. This LC will give you an excellent Effect HIT Rate and improve debuffing skills. Also, it will increase DMG and Fire DoT. |
| Eyes of the Prey (4-star) | This affordable LC provides a high Effect Hit Rate and a DoT DMG boost. |
| Before the Tutorial Mission Starts (4-Star) | It is another great 4-star option due to its Effect Hit Rate buff, reduced DEF of enemies, and improved Energy Regen. However, to achieve the effect of this LC, you will need to bring Pela or Silver Wolf into your team. |
Best Relics
Using the Prisoner in Deep Confinement full set will cause Jiaoqiu to ignore the enemy’s DEF, but only if they have three debuffs. This will considerably improve this healer’s low DMG. Although his team is limited to only DoT teammates, in this case, try to use Fleet of the Ageless or Firmament Frontline Glamoth for him. Eagle of Twilight Line will help Jiaoqiu use additional debuffs and Ultimate, but it is best if you take Acheron in his team and equip this Foxian with Sprightly Vonwacq. However, if you need more Effect Hit Rate and Speed, you can use 2-pieces of Messenger Traversing Hackerspace.

Jiaoqiu stands to gain from joining teams primarily composed of top-tier Honkai Star Rail characters (5-stars), with just a few 4-stars in the mix. However, feel free to experiment with different team combinations, as these have proven effective for us.

Strive to maintain Fire DoT (Damage Over Time) on all enemies using Jiaoqiu, making Huohuo an invaluable asset since she rejuvenates his energy and boosts the team’s Attack power. If you include Pela in your party, she will aid in applying more debuffs, which could be highly beneficial if you have Kafka or Acheron on your team. Additionally, incorporating Black Swan into your lineup can help accumulate more Arcana stacks, given that Jiaoqiu is armed with a Prisoner in Deep Confinement.
This fox is excellent for DoT and for many Nihility characters, especially Acheron. Still, you must invest much time and money, especially regarding his party. Many of his team members also require very specific Honkai Star Rail partners such as Kafka, Black Swan, or Acheron, so you should plan your build very well before pulling for Jiaoqiu.
