However, it appears that the third feature is her final choice, derived from an adaption of a 1992 novel written by Clive Barker, who is renowned for his work on “Hellraiser”.
In September, Kent shared with Gizmodo that they are planning to reveal a movie adaptation of a popular horror novel. However, he couldn’t disclose any further details at the moment.
As a gamer, I’ve just learned from World of Reel that the upcoming project is indeed “The Thief of Always,” a title previously transformed into a comic back in 2005, by none other than Clive Barker himself.
In a whimsical fairy tale vein, Barker crafted a story titled “The Thief of Always,” aimed at captivating both young and old readers. He explained to Fangoria (through his personal website): “For the 8-year-olds, this tale is a thrilling journey about a child who discovers a house that appears to offer all desires, but conceals a hidden, sinister secret.
For an adult, it’s a tale exploring themes of time and the challenges faced during childhood, and the irretrievable things we relinquish in our youthful years that are lost forever afterward.
I aimed to create a similar intriguing depth found in books such as ‘Alice In Wonderland’ or ‘The Halloween Tree’. These stories captivate young readers with their enchanting plots, while hinting at hidden layers that only become apparent upon re-reading as an adult.
