Be warned, this article reveals major spoilers for the finale of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2! Daredevil and Spider-Man have a long history of teaming up in Marvel comics, dating back to their first encounter in The Amazing Spider-Man #16 (1963). It was only natural that Matthew Murdock and Peter Parker would cross paths in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Given that both are New York City-based heroes who fight street-level crime, their meeting seemed inevitable, but the MCU hasn’t explored their potential partnership much beyond that initial encounter.
It’s understandable that Peter Parker, who’s been operating solely as Spider-Man ever since Doctor Strange made everyone forget his identity, wasn’t in the Thunderbolts—he could have helped save people from the Void. However, it was a significant oversight that Spider-Man didn’t appear in the finale of Daredevil: Born Again. Fortunately, we know Daredevil and Spider-Man will be working together in future projects.
Daredevil And Spider-Man Are Teaming Up, But Not In Born Again Season 2
The Daredevil comic by Stephanie Phillips and Lee Garbett is just getting started, with only two issues released so far. While previews hinted at it, this new ongoing series featuring a team-up between Daredevil and Spider-Man is proving to be exciting.
Panicked and straining to use his heightened senses to find Omen, Matt doesn’t notice a vehicle speeding towards him. Luckily, Spider-Man arrives just in time, grabbing Matt and pulling him to safety.
This issue ends with Spider-Man and Daredevil teaming up for a small adventure that will continue in issue #3 next June. While Daredevil (Matt) will probably tell Spider-Man (Peter) about Omen, Peter likely won’t be involved for very long – maybe just one or two issues.
I’m really excited about the possibility of seeing Daredevil and Spider-Man team up, even if it’s just for a few issues in the new Daredevil run by Phillips and Garbett. It’s a shame that Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 ended without those two ever sharing a scene together. The season finale itself focused on a deeply personal protest inside a courthouse, but things quickly escalated into a surprisingly violent confrontation.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Has A Lot To Answer For
Despite not including Spider-Man, the season finale of Daredevil: Born Again still worked well. While Spider-Man’s appearance would have made sense, it wasn’t necessary just for a quick cameo. Now that Matt Murdock is in prison, it seems increasingly likely that the Hand’s prison storyline from Spider-Man: Brand New Day will connect to him, potentially leading to a team-up between Daredevil and Spider-Man in the MCU this summer.
Daredevil #3 is scheduled to be released on June 10, 2026.
