David Attenborough, at the age of 99, recently won a Daytime Emmy Award for his work on the Netflix documentary *Secret Lives of Orangutans*. This makes him the oldest person ever to receive the award, breaking the previous record held by Dick Van Dyke, who won at 98 last year for his appearance on *Days of Our Lives*.
The documentary *Secret Lives of Orangutans* won two more Emmy Awards, including one for Outstanding Directing. The film showcases a family of orangutans living in Sumatra and features narration by the renowned David Attenborough, a pioneer in wildlife filmmaking.

David Attenborough won, beating out other nominees including Brad Bestelink (Living with Leopards), Anthony Mackie (Shark Beach with Anthony Mackie: Gulf Coast), Andi Sweeney Blanco and her team (The Fixers), and Martha Stewart (Martha Gardens).
Starting with the 1954 series Zoo Quest, this British naturalist has become a globally recognized voice in nature documentaries. He’s famous for narrating landmark projects like Planet Earth, Blue Planet, The Green Planet, and Frozen Planet.
The 52nd annual Daytime Emmy Awards were held on October 17 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
