Sam Lake Writes Exclusive Manuscript Pages For New Phasmophobia Event

Dealing with a Revenant in a creepy basement is already tough, but Phasmophobia is about to get even scarier! For the next three weeks, players will be investigating ghosts in a new, terrifying location called the Dark Place.

Horror fans are in for a treat! Today, May 12th, Kinetic Games and Remedy Entertainment have teamed up to bring the worlds of Phasmophobia and Alan Wake together in a special event – a collaboration many have wished for.

Surviving the Dark Place in Phasmophobia

The free Phasmophobia update announced in April is now available! It’s a special collaboration with Alan Wake, completely changing the atmosphere of four popular maps: Nell’s Diner, Grafton Farmhouse, Bleasdale Farmhouse, and Camp Woodwind.

Exploring these revamped locations offers a unique take on the classic ghost-hunting formula. Instead of just surviving, players now also search for hidden manuscript pages throughout each scenario, building on the gameplay of the original, popular indie game.

As a huge Alan Wake fan, I was really blown away to find out these pages were actually written by Sam Lake, Remedy’s creative director! It’s awesome knowing he personally crafted them, and it definitely feels like there might be some hidden details and lore for us dedicated fans to dig into.

A crossover that feels like it was written directly into existence by a supernatural typewriter

This collaboration isn’t just about the setting – it also introduces iconic characters. Players can now unlock permanent character skins for both Alan Wake, the troubled author, and Saga Anderson, the FBI agent. These aren’t just cosmetic changes; they include brand new animations that work with the recent major update to Phasmophobia’s player characters.

You’ll get to see the Remedy characters doing those famously funny, wobbly animations from the game, and I’m really excited to see all the memes that will come from it.

As a huge fan of Alan Wake, I was so excited to hear Kinetic Games felt the same way! Daniel Knight, the CEO, actually said it themselves – they knew Alan Wake would be a perfect fit for Phasmophobia. It’s awesome to see these two worlds colliding!

I got a serious shiver down my spine when Sam Lake warned us that if we go into the Dark Place, we “might never be able to leave!” It really shows how perfectly Alan Wake and Control fit together, and you can watch the full trailer below to see what I mean.

The limited-time “Phasmophobia by Alan Wake” event is happening now and ends on June 2nd. Don’t miss out on completing the community challenges before the event story concludes!

This unique partnership combines the suspense of investigating ghosts in Phasmophobia with the unsettling atmosphere of Alan Wake 2. You’ll definitely want to bring a powerful flashlight and a good cup of coffee from Oh Deer Diner – things are about to get intense!
