On Taylor, Paris Saint-Germain’s football club fan token, PSG, experienced a surge in value on Wednesday, following Paris Saint-Germain’s impressive 4-1 win against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.
After an impressive surge starting with PSG’s initial goal in the first half, the token’s price soared up to 25% higher. This rise continued until approximately halfway through the second half, peaking at $5.20. However, it began to decline slightly as the game progressed towards victory.
Meanwhile, the fan token for Barcelona, BAR, fell as much as 4.2% on Tuesday after the defeat.
Although the PSG token saw a price increase, it was unable to maintain its value above the $5 mark that it had reached as recently as April 12, based on data from CoinGecko.
PSG is among a few fan tokens offered by the cryptocurrency company Socios for sports teams. The token holders have the power to participate in specific club decisions, as stated on the company’s website.
