As a seasoned crypto investor with a strong background in blockchain technology and a keen interest in the latest developments in the space, I’m always keeping an eye out for new projects and partnerships that have the potential to disrupt the market.
On May 2, the Polyhedra Network team announced the launch of their open-source Zero-Knowledge (ZK) proof system named Expander. According to the team’s statement, Expander is capable of generating proofs approximately twice as fast as existing alternatives while improving security and efficiency in the ZK proof process. The new technology marks a significant advancement in scaling ZK-proof technology and integrates classical interactive proofs with advanced polynomial commitment schemes. These schemes ensure that the proof’s accuracy can’t be altered once it has been created. Following their recent partnership with Google Cloud, Polyhedra is collaborating with them to integrate Expander into all Google Cloud services through Proof Cloud.
Layer-2 BOB (Build on Bitcoin) Launches Mainnet
As a researcher, I’m excited to share that May 2 marked the launch of BOB (Build on Bitcoin), a groundbreaking layer-2 solution that brings together the best of both Bitcoin and Ethereum worlds. Backed by esteemed crypto investors such as UTXO and CMS Holdings, BOB is extending Bitcoin’s reach in the DeFi landscape by enabling Web3 users to interact with Bitcoin assets like Ordinals, Runes, and BRC20s. With the current user experience for Bitcoin DeFi still quite limited, BOB positions itself as an ideal starting point for exploring Bitcoin L2. Notable projects currently deploying on BOB include Sovryn, Velodrome, and Layerbank.
