Canadian police responded to a Christmas parade after some people put up signs protesting Santa Claus, seemingly trying to spoil the holiday for others.
Once December arrives, people everywhere begin preparing for Christmas. This usually involves putting up decorations and Christmas trees, listening to holiday music, and generally embracing a more cheerful spirit.
But many people try to spoil the joy of Christmas by telling others that Santa Claus isn’t real and doesn’t deliver presents by sleigh.
It happened again in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, where police had to intervene at the yearly Christmas parade. Some people were protesting with signs claiming Santa Claus isn’t real.
“Santa is fake” signs removed after complaints to police
Brantford Police received numerous complaints from residents about the signs, through phone calls, online messages, and direct reports, as reported by CBC News.
So, I heard back from the Brantford Police. Apparently, they talked to whoever put up those signs, and they’ve already taken them down. Good to know they handled it quickly!
Being a bit of a Scrooge isn’t against the law, but we hope everyone will get into the holiday spirit and help create a friendly, inclusive environment, particularly during events like the Santa Claus Parade.

The signs are still causing a lot of upset online, and many people are asking why anyone would want to spoil the magic of Santa Claus for others.
One person complained that kids aren’t allowed to enjoy themselves like they used to. Another joked that whoever said that must have been a mischievous child themselves.
One person noted that some individuals seem to enjoy ruining the wonder of believing for others. Another playfully defended the spirit of the season, saying, “I just saw Santa at the mall!”
