Pokimane, Valkyrae & QTCinderella “afraid” to attend TwitchCon due to safety concerns

I was really surprised and honestly a little worried to hear that Pokimane, Valkyrae, and QTCinderella are all feeling unsafe about going to TwitchCon this October. It’s super disappointing to think they’re having these concerns, and I really hope Twitch addresses them so everyone can feel secure.

TwitchCon is Twitch’s yearly event where streamers, their fans, and Twitch employees come together to celebrate everything that happened in the past year and get excited about the future.

Twitch usually helps oversee fan interactions with streamers. But with so many creators broadcasting live from TwitchCon, there are also lots of opportunities to meet them casually while you’re there.

The situation has raised safety worries for content creators, and some, like Pokimane, are hesitant to attend the 2025 event in San Diego. She expressed to her audience that she’s concerned about potential safety issues and feels it might be best to not go.

Poki said she was still unsure about attending, explaining that she worried about encountering people who might be hostile or unkind.

The OfflineTV personality was replying to QTCinderella and Valkyrae, who had shared their worries on a recent episode of their Wine About It show.

I heard Rae say she’s actually a little scared about going to TwitchCon. Apparently, they’re supposed to do a live podcast recording there, but things are pretty hectic on their end right now. QT mentioned they’ve already let the organizers know they’re feeling a bit overwhelmed.

QT mentioned she thought about canceling all her appearances in person after a female streamer in Japan was attacked while live streaming. Valkyrae agreed, saying, “It only takes one person to cause harm.”

Following the release of that episode, Rae stated that she and her co-host would cancel their upcoming live show and not participate in any further recordings of it.

The 100 Thieves co-owner expressed feeling uneasy and unsafe with the current state of the world, describing it as a really unsettling time.

The hosts of Wine About It said they plan to make it up to their fans, probably with a live stream.

I’m so excited for the event! It’s always been really well-protected, and it’s happening October 17th through the 19th. I’m just a little worried to see if any of the big streamers will cancel their appearances, but I’m hoping everyone will be there!
