After following his progress for months, PewDiePie has officially launched his free AI platform.
PewDiePie has released Odysseus, a free AI tool that people can install and use on their own computers. It’s meant to be a different option to AI chatbots like ChatGPT and Claude, as announced in his video, “MY trillion $Dollar Project is finally OUT!”
For the past year, this YouTuber has been intensely focused on developing his own AI systems. He built everything himself to run freely available AI models on his personal computers, hoping to create an easy-to-use AI tool that doesn’t depend on cloud services or share your data with big tech companies. Now, that project is finally finished and available.
PewDiePie launches free self-hosted AI workspace Odysseus
Odysseus is a program you can install and run yourself that lets you interact with language models. You can use it for things like chatting, creating AI assistants, accessing tools, serving models, managing email, and doing research – all while keeping your data private and secure, with no tracking. It’s designed for personal use and direct connection to your chosen models.
This platform acts as a complete AI hub, letting you link your own AI models or connect to others online. You can use it to build and run AI agents that work on their own, do thorough research, easily compare results from different AI models, and manage all your files in one place.
The launch video shows PewDiePie highlighting what the interface can do, including helping with research, managing chats, and acting as a personal AI assistant that doesn’t heavily depend on other companies’ services.
Even with all its features, privacy is a key priority for this platform. Odysseus is designed to be ‘local-first,’ which means your messages, files, and personal information stay on your own devices instead of being stored on remote servers.
This project is completely free and open for anyone to use. PewDiePie explains on the website that it’s designed without any hidden catches – no sales pitches, no complicated requests, and no sneaky additions. He encourages people to freely download, customize, and even run it on their own servers.
This core belief was clearly expressed at the project’s launch with a bold statement directed at leading AI companies: “This is just the beginning of our challenge to big tech.”
