Sega and Atlus have released a new update for Persona 5: The Phantom X, bringing the game to version 3.6. The update adds Goro Akechi, also known as “Crow,” as a playable character and continues the crossover story from Persona 5 Royal.
This update continues the story from the previous version (3.4), featuring Kasumi Yoshizawa, also known as Violet. While version 3.5 introduced Mayumi Hashimoto, or Turbo, as the final playable character, she won’t be regularly available for about six months. Now, all playable characters from both Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal – Joker, Mona, Skull, Panther, Fox, Queen, Navi/Oracle, Noir, Crow, and Violet – are included in P5X.
This update, version 3.6, introduces a new story episode featuring Manaka Nagao. Players in East Asia will also receive a larger update to version 4.0 alongside this episode, which includes the start of the fourth major story arc in the game.
Here’s an archive of information about Version 3.6, along with details from Sega’s official announcement. Players in Southeast Asia will likely receive this update about a week after everyone else. Persona 5: The Phantom X is now available globally on PC, iOS, and Android devices.
The new 5★ Phantom Thief Goro Akechi joins P5X:
Goro Akechi, a new 5-star character from Persona 5 Royal, is now available in the ‘Most Wanted Phantom Idol Contract.’ This contract has an increased chance of dropping specific Phantom Thief characters. You can also find Akechi’s special 5-star weapon, the Silent Pistol, in the Arms Deals.
Goro Akechi is a top-tier character who specializes in dealing high Almighty damage, and he becomes even stronger when teamed up with other powerful attackers. He can support his allies by increasing their damage with Bless attacks and weakening enemies with Curse attacks. Akechi’s unique ability, Flames of Desire, can boost his damage even further, adapting to different team setups with up to three different effects. As a primary damage dealer, he works particularly well with other Sweepers, maximizing the team’s overall damage potential while delivering devastating Almighty attacks.
Persona 5 Royal Special Event – Crossroads of Fate: Laboratory Arc Part 2
I’m so hyped! Until the end of April, Goro Akechi, or Crow, is finally playable in the Lab Arc Part 2 event! It’s awesome because the P5X Phantom Thieves are teaming up with the original Phantom Thieves of Hearts from P5R. We get to explore a totally new Palace with some really tough bosses, and if we clear the stages, we can earn amazing rewards like Gold Tickets, Platinum Milicoins, and even some rare items like 8-Sided Dice. Plus, completing missions will get us Meta Jewels and Loaded Dice – seriously, it’s a loot bonanza!
Players participating in the special event can discover the inner thoughts of Joker, Kasumi, and Akechi during that pivotal moment in Persona 5 Royal!
Jose’s Dicey Adventure
As you play through the ‘Crossroads of Fate: Laboratory Arc Part 2’, you’ll earn special dice – the 8-Sided Dice and Loaded Dice – that let you explore Mementos and get rewards. Eventually, you’ll face a boss at the end of each route, which you’ll need to defeat to continue. While exploring, you can also find Flowers and trade them for valuable items like Gold Tickets and Kagura Bells.
Boss Battle: Recollections of Fate
Beat challenging bosses tied to different Distortion Levels to earn Loaded Dice and Joy Medals. You can then trade these items for Wonder’s special weapon and other great rewards.
After you beat a level, you’ll unlock Stamina Mode. In this mode, you can replay the level using stamina, and you’ll earn special rewards like Unusual Rebel Coins by defeating the boss.
Goro Akechi makes an appearance at Leblanc
Goro Akechi will be visiting Café Leblanc in Yongen-Jaya. By participating in special activities while he’s there, you can unlock different rewards.
New Synergy: Manaka Nagao
We’ve added a new story for Manaka Nagao, a character you meet early in the game. It reveals what happened to her after her surprising meeting with Wonder and gives you a closer look at her life. To get even more out of this story, be sure to also play the side mission featuring her grandmother, Chizuko Nagao!
