Jason Sudeikis discussed his decision to bring back Ted Lasso during an appearance on the New Heights podcast. Initially, they felt the story had reached a natural conclusion after three seasons. But after the 2023 Hollywood strikes, Sudeikis said he felt a strong pull to continue the show. Last summer, Judith Light, known for her roles in Ugly Betty and Transparent, was seen filming for The Punisher: One Last Kill. The new movie We Bury the Dead premiered on May 8th and quickly became popular, landing at number 3 on Hulu’s list of top 10 movies in the US. It’s currently behind Sam Raimi’s Send Help and The Devil Wears Prada, which recently had a sequel released in theaters. Rounding out the top five are the comedies White Chicks and Keeping Up with the Joneses.

According to FlixPatrol, Deep Blue Sea is currently the ninth most popular movie on Starz in the U.S. While it received mixed reviews when it came out, the science fiction horror film was a financial success, earning $165 million globally on a budget of $60–82 million. Now, nearly 30 years later, Deep Blue Sea is widely considered a classic of its genre.

Shows like Cowboy Bebop explored complex themes of what it means to be human, the problems with society, and feelings of uncertainty. They weren’t afraid of complicated, unresolved endings, and those thought-provoking stories continue to resonate with viewers. Because of this, these exceptional works established a high bar for quality that remains difficult for later shows to reach.
