At Tokyo Game Show 2025, Capcom showcased Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Since many of the characters had already been revealed during the TGS 2025 Online Program, a key moment of the presentation was live gameplay footage. Yoshimasa Hosoya, the Japanese voice actor for the main character Miyamoto Musashi, played the TGS demo build for the audience.
Producer Akihito Kadowaki mentioned during the demo that the game has two difficulty settings. The easier setting is designed to let even players who aren’t as experienced, like Hosoya, successfully perform the game’s special counterattacks.
Satoru Nihei, the game’s director, then stepped in to rapidly complete the Kiyomizu-dera stage, adding the interactive cart and quickly finalizing the boss battle with Sasaki Ganryu.
During the livestream, Kadowaki and Nihei revealed that their team is collaborating with the city of Kyoto to faithfully recreate Kyoto locations in the game, including the famous Kiyomizu-dera Temple.
You can watch the event stream right here. Onimusha: Way of the Sword is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC (through Steam) in 2026.
