Non-linear RPG Crystal Project 2 announced for PC Steam

River Running Games is making a sequel to their game Crystal Project, called Crystal Project 2. It’s currently being developed for release on PC through Steam.

Crystal Project offers a vast world to discover, with fresh classes and abilities. It avoids frustrating elements like random battles and unrecoverable missed items, and provides greater freedom in character building, plus relaxing activities like fishing. The sequel, Crystal Project 2, was recently unveiled at Indie Quest 2026. You can watch the announcement trailer, view new images, and learn more on its Steam page.

Journey through a vast, open world and find the keys to fulfill a grand promise for the land of Sycamore. Discover unique classes, master new skills, and gather powerful gear. Use your growing strength and intelligence to conquer difficult challenges and unlock faster ways to explore even the most remote corners of the world.

Alternatively, you could be among the brave few who try to solve the world’s biggest mysteries. Just be careful not to draw unwanted attention from those who want the truth to remain hidden.

The threat-based tactical combat of Crystal Project returns in a new world with new challenges.

  • Manage Threat to control which party member a monster will attack in this telegraphed combat system with no hidden information: preview turn order, damage, and probabilities.
