As an experienced political analyst, I have closely followed the evolving dynamics of the 2024 presidential race and its intersection with the crypto industry. The recent buzz surrounding Vice President Kamala Harris’ potential appearance at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville has certainly piqued my interest.

Harris, previously put forward as a contender for the presidency when Biden retired from the race on July 21, could potentially deliver a speech at the upcoming Bitcoin conference in Nashville, scheduled to begin on July 25.

On July 24th, David Bailey, head of the event, revealed that negotiations were underway for Kamala Harris to deliver a speech at the upcoming conference.

“It would be quite astute of her to reposition the Democratic stance regarding the fastest expanding voting demographic in the United States,” he commented.

Discussions are ongoing between our team and the Kamala Harris campaign regarding her potential participation in the upcoming conference. It would be a strategic move for her to address the fastest expanding demographic within the Democratic Party, whose decisions are imminent.

It was not confirmed whether Harris would be speaking at the conference at the time of writing.

Crypto Political Race Heats Up

In a post on X published on July 24, Frank Chaparro expressed his belief that if Kamala Harris effectively communicates her views on crypto and Bitcoin being the future, and proposes a sound policy framework for it during her visit to Nashville, she will secure the race’s victory.

The Republican opponent and previous President Donald Trump, who is a rival to her, has been confirmed as a speaker at the Bitcoin conference instead.

Other prominent political figures joining Trump at the event are pro-cryptocurrency figureheads such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., previous GOP nominee Vivek Ramaswamy, and Senators Bill Hagerty and Marsha Blackburn.

THIS IS A CRYPTO ELECTION.

Vice President Kamala Harris hasn’t expressed strong views on cryptocurrency publicly yet. However, given its rising significance in the political arena during this election season, she is currently studying up on the subject.

Mark Cuban, the prosperous businessman, shared with Politico his potential openness to reconsidering certain policies, implying a possible shift in stance.

Based on the information I’ve received, albeit unconfirmed by the VP herself, there are indications that she may hold a more receptive attitude towards business, cryptocurrency, and government-as-a-service.

He mentioned that he was fielding numerous inquiries from her side regarding cryptocurrency. This is a positive indication for him.

The Harris team is making efforts to win over supporters from the crypto community prior to the November election.

Yet, her competitor holds an early advantage, labeling herself as a “crypto contender.” There are whispers that Trump could unveil plans for a U.S. government-backed Bitcoin reserve during the upcoming conference.

But Actually, No…

Despite speculation that she might attend, based on rumors that circulated for approximately a day, Bailey announced that Harris would not be in attendance. This decision was reportedly due to a conversation Harris had with Bailey’s team.

It’s unfortunate that some individuals may believe they can significantly impact an industry for four years through various means, creating operational bottlenecks, and then attempting to present themselves as knowledgeable about Bitcoin. However, behind closed doors, a major Democratic donor reportedly revealed that Kamala Harris holds the view that Bitcoin functions primarily as ill-gotten gains for criminals.
