As a dedicated fan of Honkai: Star Rail, I am thrilled beyond words with the announcement of Version 2.4! The Xianzhou Luofu is once again in the spotlight, and it feels like coming home to an old friend. The Astral Express Crew’s return for the Luminary Combat Arts Ceremony promises new challenges and surprises that I can’t wait to experience.
As a dedicated gamer of Honkai: Star Rail, I’m thrilled to embark on another adventure in Xianzhou Luofu with the arrival of the Astral Express Crew and numerous other guests for the Luminary Combat Arts Ceremony, also known as the Xianzhou Wardance. In just a few days, on July 31, Honkai: Star Rail fans like myself can expect an exhilarating experience filled with challenges and unexpected twists in the upcoming update.
The new version of Honkai: Star Rail is coming soon with significant improvements for Xianzhou Luofu and a great selection of banner characters. These additions promise to make for an enjoyable prelude to the game’s upcoming world, Amphoreus, before its official launch.
What to Expect in Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.4
New Characters and Rerun Characters
In the upcoming Version 2.4 of Honkai: Star Rail, two new playable characters from Xianzhou will make their first appearance – Yunli and Jiaoqiu. Yunli, a Physical-type Destruction character hailing from Xianzhou Zhuming, carries a massive sword and can retaliate against enemy attacks while inflicting substantial harm. On the other hand, Jiaoqiu, a Fire-type Nihility unit from Xianzhou Yaoqing, is a military healer who uses culinary medicine to deal blast damage that sets enemies ablaze.
In the initial stage of Version 2.4, Huohuo and Yunli will be the new 5-star characters to make an appearance, while Sparkle teams up with Jiaoqiu as they come back.
- First phase: Yunli (Physical, Destruction) and Huohuo (Wind, Abundance)
- Second phase: Jiaoqiu (Fire, Nihility) and Sparkle (Quantum, Harmony)
Beginning on Version 2.4, joining us on March 7th is a fresh variant of this character, who now uses a pair of swords and is classified as a 4-star Imaginary The Hunt unit. Not only does she excel in dealing damage to enemies (DPS), but she also boosts allies’ Speed and obtains attack charges whenever they inflict damage on their opponents.

New Signature Light Cones
In the upcoming Version 2.4 of Honkai: Star Rail, fresh Light Cones are introduced to enhance new characters’ skills. For instance, Yunli’s distinctive Destruction Light Cone named “Dance at Sunset” raises the chance of taking a hit and amplifies CRIT DMG. Jiaoqiu’s unique Nihility Light Cone titled “Those Many Springs” boosts Effect Hit Rate and inflicts greater damage.
On March 7th, I’m excited to obtain the “Poised to Bloom” 4-star The Hunt Light Cone. It boosts my own damage output, and generously bestows additional Critical Damage on my teammates, all aligned on the same Path.
- Dance at Sunset (5-star Destruction): Increases the odds of the wearer getting hit and increases CRIT DMG
- Those Many Springs (5-star Nihility): Increases Effect Hit Rate and damage dealt to enemies
- Poised to Bloom (4-star The Hunt): Increases the wearer’s damage and grants increased CRIT DMG to teammates following the same Path
Main Story Mission
The Astral Express team is back at Xianzhou Luofu, ready to explore deeper mysteries in “Finest Duel Under the Pristine Blue: Part I” of the Trailblaze Continuance mission. Join the Trailblazer and latest Xianzhou characters, such as Version 2.5’s banner character, Feixiao, the Arbiter-General of Xianzhou Yaoqing. They will encounter formidable foes within the Shackling Prison. Honkai: Star Rail gamers will need to be patient until the update is released to enjoy this thrilling adventure.
Companion Mission
In the upcoming Version 2.4 of Honkai: Star Rail, “Swords to Plowshares” sees the return of Companion Missions featuring Yunli and her grandfather, Huaiyan, the Arbiter-General of Xianzhou Zhuming. Through this mission, players will have an opportunity to understand their bond and witness their impressive swordsmanship.
New Map Area
In Xianzhou Luofu, the notorious Shackling Prison will be opened. This is where the most wicked criminals are kept and penalized. A new assortment of wolf-like adversaries will join the scene, among them a formidable boss monster that was previously hinted at in the Version 2.4 trailer.
Version 2.4 Events
In the upcoming Version 2.4 of Honkai: Star Rail, there are several engaging limited-time events to look forward to. The “Saga of Primaveral Blade,” starting March 7th, offers an opportunity to showcase your sword skills and overcome IPC technology. As a bonus, players will receive a free Imaginary Eidolon on this day. Additionally, there are two other events: “Operation Memoria Snapshot” and “Trailblaze: Friendship is Magic!” In the former, you’ll get to interact with magical trashcans, while in the latter, you’ll strengthen friendships through various activities.
Version 2.4 offers “Gift of Odyssey,” which includes complimentary Special Passes for a week. Additionally, two events, “Garden of Plenty” and “Planar Fissure,” will be introduced with this update to facilitate the acquisition of upgrade materials and Planar Ornaments.
