Filming for the latest Jackass movie, Jackass: Best and Last, has wrapped up. However, a particularly frightening stunt that locals in Simi Valley, California witnessed was actually part of the film.
As a huge Jackass fan, I was so excited for ‘Jackass Forever’ – it’s the fifth and last movie! Basically, it’s the same hilarious, crazy stuff we’ve come to expect: the guys pulling ridiculous stunts and, let’s be honest, getting seriously hurt in the process. It’s the final chapter, which is a little sad, but it definitely delivers the laughs – and the cringe!
The original Jackass movie was a huge success in 2002, earning over $60 million despite costing less than $5 million to make. The latest film, Jackass Forever, released in 2022, performed even better, bringing in over $80 million from a $10 million budget.
The initial trailer for the upcoming final film was unveiled at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. This happened shortly before a major stunt related to the movie created some unexpected issues in California.
Jackass takes credit for explosion mistaken for plane crash

People in Simi Valley, a city about 40 miles northwest of Los Angeles, initially believed an explosion they heard was a plane crash.
Johnny Knoxville, known for his work on Jackass, shared a video showing black smoke billowing from over a hill. In the video, someone speculates that the smoke is the result of a chemical explosion.
Okay, so everyone was freaking out yesterday because they thought a plane had crashed near Simi Valley! Turns out, it was just a huge explosion Elia Popov – the special effects guy – made for us! We were filming the very last day of Jackass, and he really went all out. It was pretty wild!
We were close to the explosion and were completely shocked by what happened. Everyone on set instantly rushed over and gave @jemfxpopov a big hug!
We want to thank Elia, his team, and everyone else who helped us celebrate the end of an era yesterday. After 26 years, we’re officially finished – and it was a fantastic send-off!

Details about the explosion are still unknown, but leaked footage from CinemaCon indicates the movie will include a scene of Steve-O getting a prostate exam by a robot, and another where Poopies has a shock collar placed on his genitals.
According to Variety, Johnny Knoxville announced at a recent event that the newest Jackass movie will be the last one ever made. He explained that Jackass is very important to him and the team knew this would be their final film, so they pushed themselves to make it their best yet.
