IShowSpeed shatters his YouTube viewership record at almost 2 million but viewbots suspected

IShowSpeed recently broke viewership records while streaming from the Dominican Republic, though some believe the numbers were inflated by the use of viewbots.

IShowSpeed has become incredibly popular thanks to his live streams while traveling the world. He’s visited many places, including China, Africa, and Europe.

During his Caribbean Tour on May 6th, IShowSpeed reached a new high of 1.92 million viewers on YouTube, making him the most-watched American streamer ever based on peak viewership.

Speed’s popularity recently increased after working with radio personality Santiago ‘Alofoke’ Matías, but it’s likely his viewer numbers were artificially inflated by the use of viewbots rather than genuine interest.

IShowSpeed’s record-breaking stream may have been heavily botted

Before my insane Caribbean stream that broke all the records, my average viewership was around 60,800 people per stream, according to StreamsCharts. It’s crazy to think how much things have blown up!

StreamsCharts observed that the stream’s viewer numbers remained consistently stable, which is unusual for a live broadcast. They suggest this steady pattern could indicate the use of artificial viewers, often called ‘viewbots’.

While his viewership increased dramatically – by over 2,270% – the number of people actively chatting during the broadcast only rose slightly, by about 30.7%. It remained similar to his previous streams.

So, other streamers started noticing what Speedrunslayer was doing, and it was getting attention. xQc, for example, was really puzzled by how quickly Speed was climbing the ranks. He even thought there had to be some bots involved, artificially boosting the viewer numbers and making it look like the stream was way more popular than it actually was.

xQc expressed confusion over iShowSpeed reaching 1.1 million simultaneous viewers on YouTube, suggesting a significant portion of those viewers might be bots. He noted a massive increase in views, stating, ‘There’s definitely a layer of bots involved.’

I was really worried he might be cheating, but a fan from Canada explained it’s probably not him doing it at all! They think someone else is messing with his game, targeting him, which makes a lot more sense.

I’m really curious to see how many people keep tuning in to watch him as he continues traveling. It’ll be amazing if Speed actually pulls it off and becomes the first streamer to broadcast from space after he’s visited every country – that would be legendary!
