Dispatch is getting more difficult with each new episode. The hacking portions are significantly more complex now, and the Dispatch missions themselves present a greater challenge. Starting in Episode 5, you’ll face penalties for sending heroes who are too skilled for the job – they’re simply overqualified!
How to solve Refinery Explosion in Dispatch
We generally assumed that having a higher skill level would make Dispatch missions easier. And usually, that’s true. But Episode 5 added a new feature that makes things a bit more complex.
Some missions now include areas where your heroes automatically fail if their skill level is too low. The Refinery Explosion mission is just the first one with this feature, and it makes these missions quite challenging.
For missions like the Refinery Explosion, and all current missions, the main challenge has always been a hero’s Combat skill. If your heroes have decent Combat stats, you should be able to handle these chapters easily. We’ll need to see how things go in Episodes 7 and 8 to know if that continues to be true.

Refinery Explosion is a challenging test, requiring strong Combat, Vigor, and Mobility skills, as well as a good amount of Intelligence. I found that using Waterboy (without leveling his Combat skill) and Golem worked well because this combination is fairly balanced between Combat and Vigor, with a particular strength in Vigor. Other team combinations I tried either barely met the required Combat level or were simply ineffective in these areas.
Since everyone has built their team differently by now, I can’t tell you exactly who to choose. You’ll need to check your current team and find the best combination to meet the mission requirements, and a little luck always helps! But there’s good news too: certain points within missions will give you bonus XP if you manage to reach them, so it can go either way.
