Honkai: Star Rail's Leaked Astral Express NPC Shush Explained

As a dedicated Honkai fan who has spent countless hours exploring the intricate lore and immersive worlds of each game, I’m thrilled by the latest leaks suggesting that Honkai: Star Rail might be expanding its multiverse even further. The idea of Shush, a robot attendant, joining the Astral Express crew is particularly exciting, as it could potentially strengthen the ties between Star Rail and its predecessors, especially Honkai: Impact 3rd.

As a passionate gamer, I’ve noticed that the Honkai: Star Rail community is notoriously accurate when it comes to leaks. If these leakers are correct about this new NPC they’re buzzing about, it looks like Honkai: Star Rail might be venturing even further into its multiverse!

In the primary setting of “Honkai: Star Rail”, we’ve got quite a few inhabitants, among them are NPCs such as Mag, Messenger, and Pom-Pom, the conductor. However, recent leaks from well-known HoYoverse leaker HomDGCat hint that elements and allusions to earlier Honkai series might be incorporated. Given that “Honkai: Star Rail” has previously referenced its predecessors in a new take on the multiverse, this possibility appears credible.

Previous References in Honkai: Star Rail

One significant method that Star Rail has integrated elements of the Honkai series into its universe is by means of its character design. Fans familiar with the franchise have been adept at identifying when characters are drawing inspiration from or are a direct nod to characters from the earlier Honkai games.

In other words, it’s been confirmed that the character called Welt on the Astral Express is identical to the one from Honkai: Impact 3rd, as suggested by his artwork and light cones which show his wife, Welt Joyce. Interestingly, both Himeko and Welt refer to something known as Void Archive, a significant piece of the backstory in Honkai: Impact 3rd’s narrative.

In the game Star Rail, some characters bear resemblances to their counterparts from previous games in terms of appearance, personality, or abilities. For instance, Seele from Star Rail shares a similar look and character traits with Seele Vollerei from Impact 3rd. Similarly, two forms of Bronya from Impact 3rd, Haxxor Bunny and Silverwing, have counterparts in Star Rail as Silver Wolf and Bronya.

According to a leak by well-known Honkai: Star Rail insiders Cleo and Seele, it appears that one of the upcoming characters in Star Rail might belong to the second group once more. There’s speculation that popular character Kevin Kaslana from Impact 3rd may reappear in the Honkai universe as Bayer in Star Rail. The leaked images of Bayer seem strikingly similar to Kevin Kaslana, sharing the same hairstyle, attire, and other distinctive features.

Given the recent rumor suggesting that Star Rail is aiming to strengthen its ties with prior games, this new piece of information appears even more convincing.

Shush Could Change Star Rail’s Lore

It’s been hinted through leaks from HomDGCat that Honkai: Star Rail may soon introduce a new NPC, nicknamed “Shush,” who is said to be stationed on the Astral Express. Previously located in the “Meeting Car,” Shush now serves as both bartender and attendant in the “Party Car,” which offers amenities like a bar, cafeteria, and board games. Although the leaks didn’t specify when Shush would join Star Rail, an intriguing piece of backstory was revealed. If accurate, Shush was constructed by the Void Archive after being dismissed from the Astral Express. Before dedicating himself to serving on the train, he reportedly acted as a messenger for the Void Archive’s apology.

If these leaks turn out to be valid, Shush could further link Impact 3rd and Star Rail. This connection might suggest that Void Archive, a significant figure in Impact 3rd’s “Post-Honkai Odyssey,” could potentially join Honkai: Star Rail. This is more likely if Shush’s background aligns with the lore, reinforcing Void Archive’s presence in Star Rail once more. In essence, it’s just a question of when we’ll see Void Archive emerge.

As a devoted fan, I haven’t received official confirmation from HoYoverse or the Honkai: Star Rail team about Shush just yet. Until that delightful robot makes its grand entrance into the game, I’ll keep my eyes peeled, eagerly searching for more hidden gems and Easter eggs reminiscent of Honkai: Impact 3rd.
