From the beginning of the ongoing storyline in Honkai: Star Rail, it has been emphasized that the vast majority of playable characters hail from Amphoreus. This isn’t just a way to focus on this world, but also because Amphoreus is secluded from the rest of the universe, preventing characters from other locations from appearing. So far, most characters introduced in Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0 and beyond have been part of the Chrysos Heirs, with a few exceptions like The Herta.
In Version 3.0 of Honkai: Star Rail, Herta was introduced simultaneously with Aglaea, and she stands out as the only character from the banner who isn’t a resident of Amphoreus. Recognized by many players as the four-star character portrayed as a puppet-like figure wandering around the Space Station, Herta represents her original form. Living far beyond our station to carry out cosmic research and communicating with the Aeon, Nous The Erudition, she is yet to have her backstory fully explored in Honkai: Star Rail. However, speculation abounds that she may take on a more significant role in the ongoing journey.
It’s Time For Honkai: Star Rail to Expand Herta’s Story
Name | Element and Path |
---|---|
Herta (4-star) | Ice, Path of Erudition |
The Herta (5-star) | Ice, Path of Erudition |
I’ve been acquainted with Herta since the tale of Honkai: Star Rail began, finding her after waking up on the Space Station. Right from the start, it was evident that the little girl I interact with is just one of many dolls crafted by the original Herta to monitor the Space Station and the Simulated Universe, and participate in meetings with colleagues. In terms of combat, 4-star Herta has been a consistent choice for ATK teams, often serving as a DPS or sub-DPS alongside characters like Himeko and Jade.
After approximately two years, Honkai: Star Rail unveiled Herta in her original form, known as The Herta. While she shares the same Ice-type Erudition abilities as Herta, her execution is distinct. In combat, The Herta serves as an effective Damage Per Second (DPS) unit, inflicting True Damage and boasting a stronger follow-up attack. Within Honkai: Star Rail’s narrative, Herta is a respected member of the Genius Society, alongside notable figures such as Screwllum and Ruan Mei. In the Space Station, Herta’s puppets are at work, while she resides on the fringes of the cosmos to carry out research and communicate with Nous, given her status as a potent Emanator of Erudition.
The Herta Has Been Strangely Absent from the Amphoreus Arc
In the Amphoreus arc, Herta is the sole character not belonging to the Amphoreus species who was introduced, yet she hasn’t made an appearance on the planet reminiscent of ancient Greece. There’s a strong possibility that Herta could influence events in future chapters, given that there are three Paths tied to this planet, one being Erudition. It’s speculated that Herta might persuade Nous to release its grip on Amphoreus, potentially opening the planet up to the wider cosmos. Additionally, hints in the main story of Honkai: Star Rail suggest that March 7th could appear in Amphoreus soon, adding more fuel to the fire that Herta might finally obtain her highly anticipated 5-star form.
In addition to Amphoreus, Honkai: Star Rail offers a chance to delve into the lives of members from the Genius Society, particularly Herta who’s been part of the story since its inception. It’s enjoyable watching her interplay with the Trailblazer during Simulated Universe runs and side quests on the Space Station, but it can get repetitive at times. However, with Herta’s original form now introduced, this presents Honkai: Star Rail with an opportunity to give her more focus in the narrative. Given Herta’s inherent dramatic nature, it seems fitting that she will soon have a significant role in the storyline.
