I’m deeply saddened by the news that Chris Niosi, the voice actor for Moze in Honkai Star Rail, has decided to step down from the role due to backlash over his past abuse scandal. As a long-time fan of the game and the Honkai universe, it’s disheartening to see such events unfold.
As a devoted fan, I’d express it this way: I was looking forward to Moze’s voice being brought to life by the talented Chris Niosi in Honkai Star Rail. However, following the public outrage over past allegations against him, Chris has announced his decision to step down from the role.
As a dedicated Honkai Star Rail gamer, I’ve been following the latest news about Moze’s voice actor. Sadly, he’s announced that he’ll be stepping down from the role due to backlash from players over his past scandal from 2019. His ex-girlfriend spoke up, sharing allegations of manipulation and inappropriate touching without consent against him. It’s a tough situation, and I can only imagine how difficult this must be for all involved.
Niosi was revealed as the voice actor for Moze, a new character in Honkai Star Rail. This announcement prompted a strong reaction from players who expressed their disapproval and requested MiHoYo to recast the VA, reminiscent of Nintendo’s decision to replace him in the Fire Emblem franchise half a decade ago.
Niosi has announced that he won’t be playing the character Moze in Honkai Star Rail any longer. He expresses his gratitude towards MiHoYo for allowing him to be a part of the project, however brief it may have been.
On Mondays, I informed my representative that I’ve made the tough choice to relinquish my position as Moze in Honkai Star Rail, kindly requesting they convey this news to MiHoYo for me.

On Mondays, I informed my representative that I wanted MiHoYo to be notified of my choice to leave behind the character of Moze in Honkai Star Rail. I feel I can’t keep playing this role with a clear conscience, considering the distress it may bring to numerous individuals, including those I have previously hurt.
The voice actor also said that they’d be taking a break from social media for some time.
Niosi revealed that he’s been subjected to harassment and death threats from gamers, causing him to seek therapy and medical help for his personal growth. Rest assured, I’m dedicated to the ongoing process of transforming myself into a more improved individual.
Niosi disabled the commenting feature on his post, which has now amassed more than 2,500 retweets and 1,500 likes.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that Moze’s voice lines in Honkai Star Rail will be getting an update in an upcoming version. Can’t wait to hear the new and improved dialogue from my favorite character!
