Honkai: Star Rail version 3.4 update ‘For the Sun is Set to Die’ launches July 2

miHoYo has officially revealed that the update 3.4 for “Honkai: Star Rail,” titled “For the Sun is Set to Die,” is set to release on July 2nd.

In this latest release, Phainon and the Trailblazer will find themselves at a pivotal juncture, poised to embark on a potentially groundbreaking move that could herald the advent of Era Nova. Simultaneously, three new playable figures – namely Phainon, Saber, and Archer – are set to grace our screens for the first time after much anticipation. Each character boasts an exclusive backstory and fighting technique, enriching the combat dynamics and infusing fresh energy into this grand odyssey. Furthermore, a variety of limited-time events, performance enhancements, and novel content have been rolled out, aiming to surpass expectations and spark enthusiasm throughout the cosmos.

Moving forward from where events stood, the Chrysos Heirs poured every resource at their disposal, rushing against the clock to aid Trailblazer and Phainon in restoring the last Coreflame to the Genesis Vortex. With Amphoreus’ veils slowly lifting, one fact becomes crystal clear: matters were never as straightforward as they appeared. What follows transcends a single realm – the Era Nova could reverberate among the stars. In the aftermath of these events, the Trailblazer’s decisions could determine the fate of the universe itself.

In the forthcoming narrative, Phainon, the eagerly anticipated figure, will officially join the Trailblazer’s squad as a crucial ally in the main plot. Originating from Aedes Elysiae, he was one of the initial Chrysos Heirs to extend friendship towards the Trailblazers upon their arrival in Amphoreus. Through thick and thin, Phainon has consistently stood strong, protecting others amid escalating perils. Beneath his composed and dependable persona, however, lies the weight of high expectations. In Version 3.4, players will delve deep into Aedes Elysiae alongside the Trailblazer, following Phainon’s path—from his emergence as a warrior, to joining the Flame-Chase, and eventually evolving into the person he is today. During battles, Phainon can gather “Coreflames” in various ways. Once he gathers a certain number of “Coreflames,” he can unleash his Ultimate to metamorphose and establish a “Territory,” fighting enemies in an enhanced form. His combat prowess significantly amplifies during this transformation. While transformed, allies momentarily withdraw from the battlefield, but their bonus effects persist. Upon transforming with “Coreflames,” Phainon unlocks new abilities, tapping into the powers of Origination, Calamity, and the Foundation Titans. Notably, when Phainon is part of the team, the team’s Technique Point limit expands. His Technique can swiftly vanquish ordinary foes within a certain range without initiating combat, making exploration and cross-world adventuring more manageable.

After Amphoreus, Penacony is also set to reveal its captivating tale: The Trailblazer has been sent a secret message from Old Oti, leader of the Alfalfa Family, inviting participation in an exclusive performance titled “Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail War.” This Holy Grail War will take place within Penacony, where seven chosen individuals will summon historical figures of Penacony as Servants to aid them in combat. Alongside the Trailblazer, characters like Aventurine, Mr. Boothill, and Miss Robin will also join this competition. Simultaneously, three legendary Spirit Heroes – Saber, Archer, and Lancer – will be summoned by the call of the Holy Grail. The course of this mesmerizing and unforeseeable “Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail War” remains to be seen; who will form alliances with whom? The Trailblazer has the chance to uncover these secrets firsthand. The collaborative story, Trailblaze Continuance “Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail,” part of the Honkai: Star Rail and Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] series, will commence on July 11. It’s noteworthy to mention that Saber is set to appear as a playable character in this collaboration. Saber is a top-tier Wind-class hero adhering to the Path of Destruction. Her ultimate ability, “Excalibur,” inflicts significant Wind damage on all opponents and transforms her basic attacks into powerful ones that target every enemy. During battles, Saber can build up “Core Resonance” through her skills, basic attacks, or when allies activate their ultimates. Once she has enough, she’ll instantly receive an extra turn. Utilizing her skill at this point will expend all the accumulated “Core Resonance,” boost the skill’s power, and replenish the energy needed for her ultimate ability.

Saber is a 5-star character who fights using wind magic. She can use a powerful move called Excalibur that hurts all enemies at once. During battles, she can gather “Core Resonance” through her abilities, attacks, or when allies use their special moves. When she has enough, she gets an extra turn to attack. Using her skill consumes all the stored “Core Resonance,” makes it more powerful, and recharges the energy needed for Excalibur. She’s joining the collaboration as a playable character.

As a thrilled fan, I’m excited to share that I’ll be able to join forces with Archer in our adventures! This Quantum-type character, following the Path of the Hunt, is a force to reckon with. His expertise lies in dishing out continuous, powerful single-target damage through his Skills.

Once his Skill is activated and he’s in the “Circuit Connection” state, casting the Skill won’t end his turn. He can keep using it until all Skill Points are exhausted, with each subsequent cast increasing the damage.

When he unleashes his Ultimate, he recites the iconic chant to activate “Unlimited Blade Works,” dealing a massive blow to a single enemy and filling up the Special Charge. As the battle rages on, whenever an ally strikes, Archer can utilize this Charge to launch a Follow-up ATK and restore 1 Skill Point for our team.

This sounds like an epic journey ahead! Let’s get ready to roll with Archer by our side!

Beginning on July 11, during the collaboration event running through Version 3.6, Trailblazers can secure Archer, a limited 5-star collaboration character, at no cost upon logging in. It is important to note that both the character and Light Cone collaborative banners will remain accessible for a long period after the event commences.

In the latest Version 3.4 update, we have some exciting news! Firstly, fan favorites like Tribbie, Sunday, and Sparkle are making a comeback for a limited period. Then, Firefly, Jingliu, and Blade will join in later. What’s more, Silver Wolf, Blade, Kafka, and Jingliu will get significant upgrades, with tweaks to their battle strategies and Eidolon abilities. The best part? You can switch between classic and improved combat modes at your convenience, offering a customizable gaming experience based on your preferences and style. And let’s not forget the debut of Firefly’s new outfit, Spring Missive, adding a touch of freshness to this cherished Stellaron Hunter!
