HoYoverse has revealed that the update for Honkai: Star Rail, titled “For the Sun is Set to Die,” is scheduled to release globally on July 2, and it can be played on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS devices, and Android platforms.

This new update introduces the much-anticipated Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works, along with Phainon as a playable character, plus additional features. The collaboration commences on July 11, and users who log in before version 3.6 can receive Archer for free.

HoYoverse, a worldwide leader in interactive entertainment, revealed today that Version 3.4 update for Honkai: Star Rail, titled “For the Sun is Set to Die,” will launch on July 2. In this new version, Phainon and the Trailblazer find themselves at a pivotal juncture, poised to embark on a potentially game-changing move that could herald the start of Era Nova. Additionally, three brand new characters – Phainon, Saber, and Archer – are set to make their grand entrance, each boasting unique backstories and combat techniques that will add fresh layers of complexity and style to the ongoing adventure. Throughout this update, a series of limited-time events, performance enhancements, and fresh content aim to surpass all expectations and generate buzz throughout the cosmos.

Resuming the narrative, the Chrysos Heirs poured out their resources, hurrying against the clock to aid Trailblazer and Phainon in returning the last Coreflame to the Vortex of Genesis. As the mists clearing around Amphoreus reveal an undeniable fact: matters were never as straightforward as they appeared. What transpires next transcends a solitary world – the Era Nova’s dawn might reverberate among the stars. And in the aftermath, the Trailblazer’s decisions could mold the universe’s fate itself.

In the approaching narrative, the highly anticipated character, Phainon, will be integrated into the Trailblazer’s team as a crucial ally starting in Version 3.4. Originating from Aedes Elysiae, he was one of the initial Chrysos Heirs to extend friendship towards the Trailblazers upon their arrival in Amphoreus. As danger escalates, Phainon has consistently stood tall, protecting others amidst the tempest. Beneath his composed and dependable facade, however, lies the weight of high expectations. Players will embark on a journey deep into Aedes Elysiae with the Trailblazer, following Phainon’s path — from his ascent to warriorhood, participation in the Flame-Chase, and ultimately becoming the person he is now. In combat situations, Phainon collects “Coreflames” through various methods. When he reaches a specific number of “Coreflames,” he can unleash his Ultimate, metamorphosing and creating a “Territory,” where he battles enemies in an enhanced form. His battle prowess significantly strengthens during this transformation. Allies temporarily withdraw from the fight but retain their active bonus effects while Phainon is transformed using Coreflames. This transformation also grants him new abilities, tapping into the powers of Origination, Calamity, and the Foundation Titans. Notably, when Phainon is part of the team, the team’s Technique Point limit increases. His unique Technique can instantly vanquish ordinary enemies within a certain radius without initiating combat, simplifying exploration and traversing various worlds.

After Amphoreus, Penacony is set to reveal its captivating tale next: The Trailblazer has been extended an enigmatic invitation by Old Oti, leader of the Alfalfa Family, to participate in a unique entertainment event titled “Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail War.” In this event, seven chosen individuals will summon Penacony’s historical figures as combat allies, known as Servants. Among these participants are Trailblazer, Aventurine, Mr. Boothill, Miss Robin, and others.

Three legendary Spirit Heroes – Saber, Archer, and Lancer – will also be drawn to the Holy Grail’s call. The upcoming “Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail War” promises a thrilling and unforeseeable journey. Who will forge alliances with whom in this spectacle? The Trailblazer stands to experience these secrets firsthand. It’s also important to mention that Saber is set to appear as a playable character in this partnership. As a 5-star Wind-type character adhering to the Path of Destruction, she brings forth significant wind damage with her ultimate attack, “Excalibur,” striking all enemies simultaneously and temporarily upgrading her basic attacks to target multiple opponents. During battle, Saber can gather “Core Resonance” through her abilities, basic attacks, or when allies activate their ultimates. Once sufficient energy is amassed, she instantly gains an additional turn. Using her skill at this point expends all accumulated “Core Resonance,” amplifies the skill’s damage, and immediately restores the energy needed for her ultimate ability.

Concurrently, players will have the opportunity to control Archer as a character in combat against formidable foes during both the Holy Grail War and subsequent space journeys. As a Quantum-type hero on the Hunter’s Path, Archer excels at dishing out consistent damage to individual targets by repeatedly employing his skills. Once activated, he enters the “Circuit Connection” state, allowing him to keep casting the skill without ending his turn until all Skill Points are exhausted. Each subsequent cast amplifies the damage dealt. Upon using his ultimate move, Archer recites a famous incantation to summon “Unlimited Blade Works,” launching a powerful assault against a single adversary and replenishing 1 Skill Point for the team whenever an ally attacks.

Beginning July 11th, during the collaboration event (which lasts until the end of Version 3.6), Trailblazers can obtain Archer, a unique 5-star collaboration character, free of charge upon logging in. Importantly, note that both the character and Light Cone collaboration banners will continue to be accessible long after the event has commenced, extending their availability beyond the initial event period.

In the latest version 3.4, you’ll find not just the comeback of beloved characters but also exciting improvements and refreshed appearances for familiar ones. Initially, in the initial phase, the popular characters Tribbie, Sunday, and Sparkle will be back temporarily. Following this, Firefly, Jingliu, and Blade will reappear too. What’s even more thrilling is that Silver Wolf, Blade, Kafka, and Jingliu are set to receive significant upgrades, encompassing changes in battle strategies and Eidolon effects. Players now have the freedom to switch between classic and improved combat modes for a customized gaming experience that suits their tastes and playing styles. Furthermore, Firefly’s new outfit, Spring Missive, is ready to make its debut, offering a fresh style to this cherished Stellaron Hunter.
