A recent leak of information about “Honkai: Star Rail” has disclosed all the details regarding one of the forthcoming characters, who is known as the new Nihility Quantum user called Cipher. The official accounts for “Honkai: Star Rail” on social media have recently unveiled Cipher’s splash art, suggesting that this character will be included in update 3.3.
The unexpected announcement caught many fans off guard, as it’s still relatively early for HoYoverse to unveil fresh characters, with the second part of update 3.1 yet to be completed. Previously confirmed, Honkai: Star Rail will introduce two new playable units in update 3.2 – Castorice and Anaxa.
A fascinating discussion about the abilities of the character Cipher, from the Honkai: Star Rail game, has been brought up on its subreddit. It’s been revealed that this character is one of the Chrysos Heirs, a group of strong individuals who emerged after the fall of Amphoreus’ Titans. At present, only eight of the Chrysos Heirs are known, and it seems that the upcoming five-star character Castorice will also be part of this group. Some fans speculate that Cipher’s appearance is modeled after Pardofelis from Honkai Impact 3, which wouldn’t be unexpected since HoYoverse frequently draws character designs from its past playable units in other titles. Given that Cipher is a Nihility character in Honkai: Star Rail, it looks like she’ll focus on inflicting debuffs. As per the leaked information, her abilities mainly revolve around two key effects: Foretold and Wealth Bond.
Honkai: Star Rail: Cipher’s Kit Explained
- Basic ATK – Deals Quantum damage equal to a percentage of Cipher’s ATK to a single enemy target in Honkai: Star Rail.
- Talent – At the start of an ally’s turn, if no enemy is under the Foretold effect, Cipher inflicts it on a random enemy, prioritizing the target with the highest HP.
- Skill – Inflicts the Foretold effect, which deals Quantum damage scaling with Cipher’s ATK. The effect deals damage to the selected target and its adjacent enemies.
- Ultimate – Cipher deals Quantum damage to a single enemy before dealing True damage equal to the value of the Wealth Bond effect, which is distributed among the target and its nearby enemies.
In the game Honkai: Star Rail, if an ally attacks an enemy under Foretold’s effect, Cipher will transition into the Wealth Bond state. Additionally, Cipher possesses a unique Technique that lets her vanish, becoming stealthed and boosting her movement speed. As she moves past treasures, they are automatically collected. At the start of a battle, Cipher will strike all opponents and register the damage in her Wealth Bond.
In Honkai: Star Rail, Cipher’s signature Light Cone boosts Critical Rate. When a player attacks with their Skill, it reduces the enemy’s defense. This effect amplifies if the attack is a Critical Hit. As for when Cipher will be released, given that she was announced after Hyacine, players can anticipate her debut in the latter half of Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.3.
