Honkai: Star Rail Leak Reveals Next Character Buff

In a recent leak regarding Honkai: Star Rail, it’s suggested that the upcoming character to receive an upgrade will be Firefly. Introduced in Version 2.3 of the game, Firefly is one of the four initial Stellaron Hunters and is renowned for her transformable mecha form.

After the debut of the Amphoreus update at the beginning of 2025, Honkai: Star Rail has been gradually enhancing established characters like Blade and Kafka to ensure their effectiveness in forthcoming updates. This approach keeps older characters pertinent in the game’s dynamic meta. Players are given the flexibility to implement these enhancements on their characters, as they may prefer the original version over the updated one.

As a devoted fan, I can’t hide my excitement about the upcoming enhancements to Honkai: Star Rail characters, and it looks like Firefly could be next! A trustworthy leaker named Luna suggests that we might see these changes in the first half of 2026, coinciding with the next significant story update. However, since details about the potential buffs for Firefly are still scarce, it’s important to approach this information cautiously and keep our fingers crossed for more concrete updates.

Honkai: Star Rail Buffing Firefly Could Be a Step in the Right Direction

Honkai: Star Rail’s Firefly Abilities

  • Basic ATK: Order: Flare Propulsion
  • Empowered Basic ATK: Fyrefly Type-IV: Pyrogenic Decimation
  • Skill: Order: Aerial Bombardment
  • Empowered Skill: Fyrefly Type-IV: Deathstar Overload
  • Ultimate: Fyrefly Type-IV: Complete Combustion

In the majority of battles within the Penacony chapter of Honkai: Star Rail last year, Firefly was a common choice in many team setups due to her capability to inflict substantial Break Damage. The game featured a Super Break meta for quite some time, making Firefly’s skills particularly valuable during match-ups. She could make enemies vulnerable to fire and break their shields, which proved extremely useful. Although Firefly may not be as effective against all of Amphoreus’ enemies or in completing Honkai: Star Rail’s diverse challenge stages on her own, she can still contribute significantly when paired with support characters that boost her damage output and resistance penetration.

Currently, Honkai: Star Rail is currently running a Fate/Stay Night crossover during Version 3.4, with Saber and Archer joining the playable characters. This cross-over event will continue until the first half of Version 3.6, giving many players an opportunity to complete its missions as they follow along with the Amphoreus storyline.
