Honkai: Star Rail Banner Tier List

As a seasoned veteran of Honkai: Star Rail, I can confidently say that the game has never failed to surprise me with its dynamic characters and strategic depth. Among the many extraordinary units I’ve encountered, Kafka and Black Swan have undeniably left an indelible mark on my gaming experience.

As a devoted fan of Honkai: Star Rail, one aspect that truly excites me is the introduction of fresh characters through gacha gameplay. The main allure lies in the fact that these newly introduced characters often outperform others within their respective classes, especially DPS characters like Acheron and Firefly who dish out over 100,000 damage with an optimal build and team composition – a feat that’s challenging for most previous 5-Stars in the same class to achieve. With each new version of Honkai: Star Rail, endgame enemies grow stronger, making it essential to have characters that can match their power level for a smoother gaming experience. In Version 2.4 and beyond, a series of new and rerun banners will be rolled out in Honkai: Star Rail, and as a player, it’s crucial to identify the units that would complement my current team compositions.

In the game Honkai: Star Rail, mastering team composition is essential to succeed in its endgame battles, such as those against Cocolia, Phantylia, or Sunday. It’s not enough to bring four identical characters to these encounters and hope for victory. Instead, players should construct a team consisting of damage dealers, supporters, and units that can maintain resources. The upcoming Version 2.4 and beyond of Honkai: Star Rail will introduce a variety of new and returning characters, each fulfilling unique roles that help fill out diverse teams.

Certain character sets may have been revealed using unofficial data, so it’s important for players to be aware that adjustments could be made when these characters officially appear in gameplay.

  • Sparkle
  • Lingsha
  • Feixiao
  • Robin
  • Dr. Ratio

Sparkle

In a simultaneous run, The Radiant Trickster Sparkle is making a comeback alongside Jiaoqiu’s emblem. She stands out as an outstanding 5-star Harmony support with versatile team compatibility. Her ultimate offers additional skill points, while her skill allows for the enhancement of ally actions. This makes her an ideal fit for various teams, particularly those with characters like Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, Qingque, and even Acheron, who heavily rely on skill points to deal damage.

Lingsha

Based on reports, Lingsha possesses the ability to apply Befog, a status that boosts the amount of break damage enemies sustain. Moreover, she can regularly restore health with her skill. Additionally, her summon deals follow-up damage while simultaneously healing and purifying allies. As such, she might serve as an exceptional source of durability for break teams and could potentially replace Aventurine in follow-up compositions.

Feixiao

Feixiao, a general from Xianzhou Yaoqing in the Hunt universe, is characterized by her ability to reinforce attacks from allies and has an inherent action advance feature. It’s been hinted that her ultimate move could deal a significant portion of her attack power while simultaneously weakening the enemy’s defense, regardless of elemental alignment. She proves to be another strong addition to the FUA (Flexible Unit Assembly) roster, with potential synergies with Topaz, Dr. Ratio, Robin, Aventurine, March 7th (The Hunt), and Lingsha.

Robin

In the upcoming version 2.5 of Honkai: Star Rail, there are whispers that a potent ally called Harmony will be included in a three-part reprise alongside Kafka and Black Swan. This character is renowned for consistently increasing damage output for all team members while propelling their actions by 100%, with substantial boosts to damage and critical rate via her ultimate ability. This makes her an exceptional choice for teams aiming to take turns quickly, but her versatile buffs also make her a valuable asset for other compositions such as those focusing on Damage Over Time (DOT) or traditional hypercarry playstyles.

Dr. Ratio

The Hunt character is said to potentially reappear in the upcoming 2.5 reruns; however, there are whispers that Topaz and Numby could take his place based on recent leaks. His unique ability includes throwing chalk at enemies after an attack, dealing as much as 40% of his ATK multiplied by 2.7 times (up to 270%). Additionally, Dr. Ratio may administer follow-ups to weakened opponents. Given these traits, he serves as an excellent primary DPS option for players aiming to build a team that excels in follow-up attacks, particularly with units that can debuff and attack frequently.

  • Kafka
  • Black Swan
  • Topaz and Numby

Kafka

In the game Honkai: Star Rail, this unit was introduced in Version 1.2. Despite being an old release, she continues to be one of the strongest damage dealers, thanks to her unique ability to concentrate damage-over-time (DOT) ticks into a single, intense burst using her skill. Her talent amplifies her power by boosting damage from following up on allies’ basic attacks and adding the Shock DOT on top of that. Kafka consistently ranks as the best character for dealing damage over time, particularly when teamed with Black Swan.

Black Swan

In this game, Memokeeper stands out as Kafka’s top subordinate DPS unit due to her ability to consistently apply Arcana, her unique Damage Over Time (DOT), through both basic attacks and skills. At the start of an enemy’s turn, Arcana inflicts damage up to 240% of Memokeeper’s Attack Power. Additionally, it boosts the DOT damage inflicted on the target. The Arcana effect can also spread to neighboring enemies, making it simpler for Kafka to deal significant damage by triggering these DOTs. While Black Swan can function independently from Kafka, players would be deprived of the powerful front-loaded DOT explosions that this duo is famous for.

Topaz and Numby

As a diehard fan, I’m thrilled to hear whispers suggesting that the esteemed officer from IPC could return in Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.5. She’s undeniably an outstanding choice for the game. Known as Topaz, she possesses a unique skill that brands enemies with “Proof of Debt,” prompting her summon, Numby, to execute a sequential strike dealing 150% of Topaz’s ATK. Here’s the interesting part: when allies attack these branded foes, Numby readies himself for his next action, advancing it by as much as 50%. While Topaz shines in follow-up combinations, she might not be the best choice for support roles outside of them. However, the recent influx of 5-star and 4-star units tailored for follow-up strategies is a perfect fit for Topaz’s kit.

  • Jiaoqiu

Jiaoqiu

Healer Jiaoqiu from Foxia is Acheron’s top-tier support because he consistently applies his Ashen Roast debuff during his turn, which helps Acheron activate her ultimate more frequently. The Ashen Roast debuff also enhances the damage dealt to enemies, making Acheron, the Emanator of Nihility, even deadlier. However, while Jiaoqiu can be useful in teams focusing on Damage Over Time (DOT), he isn’t as versatile as other support units might be.

  • Stellar Warp

Stellar Warp

As a gamer, I’ve found that the Standard Banner in this game does offer some solid starting characters like Bronya, Clara, and Himeko. Yet, I wouldn’t advise spending any hard-earned Stellar Jades on it. You see, this banner includes multiple characters, which means the chance of getting the exact unit you desire is quite slim, even with a guaranteed 5-star pull.
