Honkai: Star Rail Apocalyptic Shadow Sovereign Control Guide

As a seasoned player with countless hours spent in the battlefield, I must say that this team composition and strategy is nothing short of a masterpiece! The synergy between these heroes is simply astounding.

In the latest update, Version 2.6, the ominous influence known as Apocalyptic Shadow has been replaced with Sovereign Control. Now, in this iteration, you’ll encounter characters named Kafka and Cacophonic Conductor.

Current Buff in Apocalyptic Shadow V2.6

• When an enemy with “Steadfast Safeguard” aka Kafka and Sunday boss is Weakness Broken, immediately recovers all Skill Points and activates Ultimate for all allies (by refilling Energy to the fullest).
• Increases Weakness Break DMG taken by all enemies by 20%.
• Increases Follow-up ATK DMG taken by all enemies by 20%.

Boss 1: Kafka (Soulhook Sovereign)

Boss Trait

1. Boss Mirage takes 50% less DMG. After Weakness is broken and action gets additionally delayed, additionally increases DMG taken by 100%.
2. Boss Mirage will transmit its own Weakness Type to the summon. After any one of its summons is defeated, the summon’s Weakness Type will be added to the remaining summons.
3. Attacking summons reduces Boss Mirage’s HP by an equal amount. After any summon is eliminated, the remaining summons’ SPD increases and the DMG they take increases.

TLDR & Tips

• When the battle starts and Kafka summons her minions, you need to focus on one of the summons (or both if you bring AoE DPS). Among the 2, focus on the minion that has the Weakness Type of your Main DPS. Once the first minion loses, their Weakness will be transferred to the remaining minion and they will take increased DMG.
• Remember to bring a healer that can remove debuff as Kafka’s ability can put your characters in the Dominated state (Kafka will control them and use the Dominated character to attack your other ally).

2. Impassioned SpiritsAfter defeating any enemy targets, advances all ally targets’ action by 10%
3. Turn of LuckFollow-up attacks of characters ignores 15% of the enemy targes’s All-Type RES and can also reduce the Toughness of targets that do not have the corresponding Weakness, with the effect being equivalent to 50% of the original Toughness Reduction from abilities.

Challenge Strategy

Initially, you’ll encounter Blaze Out of Space and Ice Out of Space. Immediately upon engagement, Kafka assigns physical and imaginative qualities to the Blaze and attributes fire and wind to the Ice. As illustrated in the image above, Kafka remains undefeated until the summon is defeated, at which point her weakness will reappear.

Keep in mind that assaulting the summon will decrease Kafka’s health by the same value (however, Kafka’s health won’t affect the summon in the same way). Therefore, for the time being, you might want to concentrate solely on the summon itself.

After overpowering one of the summons, its vulnerability will shift to the remaining summon. Its speed will boost up, but it will take more damage in return. Avoid attacking Kafka and defeat the remaining summon now that it has taken increased damage.

After defeating both summoned beings, the Weakness Type will revert back to Kafka. Now it’s time to pour all your power into helping Kafka overcome her resistance or toughness.

The most exciting moment comes when Kafka’s vulnerability shatters, restoring not just basic energy but also Acheron and Feixiao’s mechanisms. You’ll gain all the skill points accumulated, and Kafka will take increased damage. Go ahead and use ALL your abilities NOW!

In the second stage, both phases are similar in that you should prioritize the summon with your Main DPS’s weakness type before attacking Kafka. To clarify, the dinosaur on the left is weak against Physical and Elemental attacks, whereas the dinosaur on the right has a weakness against Fire and Wind-based attacks.

Boss 2: Cacophonic Conductor

Boss Trait

1. Boss Mirage takes 50% less DMG. After its Weakness is broken, its action is additionally delayed and the DMG it receives increases by 100%.
2. When summons are Weakness Broken, Boss Mirage will lose a certain amount of Toughness. After summons are Weakness Broken, “Horizon’s Echo From Afar” charges up. Use “Horizon’s Echo From Afar” to deal massive DMG to all enemies and reduce their Toughness.
3. Boss Mirage will share its own Weakness Type with the summon. After any of its summons is Weakness Broken, the summon’s Weakness Type will be added to all enemy targets.

TLDR & Tips

• When the battle starts, focus on the minions around Sunday (there are 4 of them). The boss shared its weakness with the summoned enemies. Initially, all the summons will have 1 Weakness Type only. But after defeating one summon, its Weakness will be shared to all other summons, making them have multiple Weakness Types.
• When any of the summons are Weakness Broken, it will charge “Horizon’s Echo from Afar” aka the train icon on the right side. Once the train is charged up, you can use it to deal damage and reduce all enemy units’ Toughness.
• Special mention for the second phase, Break summons or reduce Boss Mirage’s Toughness to gain Shield and withstand the boss’ Ultimate attack.

1. Victory RushAfter a character uses Follow-Up ATK, advances their action by 15%. This effect can be triggered a max of 1 time(s) per character before their next action
2. Swift EradicationThe Weakness Break Efficiency increases by 25% when characters deal Ultimate DMG.
3. Breed War with WarIncreases all ally characters’ Break Effect by 50%. When a character Breaks an enemy target’s Weakness, regenerates 5 Energy to the character.

In this setup, there are four distinct types of weaknesses that the summons will receive. Initially, each summon will possess a single type of weakness. If one of the summons experiences a ‘Weakness Break’, its weakness type will be passed onto all other summons.

On Sundays, not only will they reveal their Weakness Type once it’s Broken, but their Toughness Meter will also lower. Additionally, the “Horizon’s Echo From Afar” will fill up, as indicated by the train icon on the right side.

In this place, there’s no issue with survival as defeating tough enemies provides your team with a protective shield that can be built up. Yes, breaking their weakness offers numerous advantages.
