FOX is hiring a “Chief FIFA World Cup Watcher” to watch every single match

FOX Sports is giving one lucky football fan a dream job: they’ll pay someone to watch every game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The company is partnering with FOX One and Indeed to create a unique, temporary job: a “FOX One Chief World Cup Watcher” who will be hired through Indeed. The position is centered around the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The chosen candidate will earn $50,000 to watch every one of the 104 games in the tournament, which lasts 39 days from June 11th to July 19th. While that won’t cover the cost of tickets to the World Cup final, it’s still a significant amount of money.

FOX is hiring a fan to watch games live in stunning 4K quality on FOX One, from a special viewing area built just for them in Times Square, New York City.

This job isn’t simply about enjoying the World Cup as a spectator. FOX explains that the selected fan will also be responsible for making and posting content online, sharing their thoughts and reactions throughout the entire tournament.

As a huge soccer fan, I was so excited to hear what FOX Sports is doing for the World Cup! Their President of Marketing, Robert Gottlieb, said this tournament is going to be huge, and they’re looking for someone equally amazing to join the team. They’re actually hiring one lucky person for what sounds like a dream job – getting to experience all the incredible stories, celebrate every country involved, and soak up all the thrilling moments of the World Cup. Seriously, how cool is that?!

Okay, so FOX is saying if I want to apply for this Chief World Cup Watcher gig, I need to make sure my Indeed profile is totally up-to-date by May 17th. They also want me to make a quick video – like, explain in a minute or less why I’m the person who should get the job – and post it on social media with the hashtag #ChiefWorldCupWatcher. Sounds fun, actually!

The person selected for the job will start on June 6th, and FOX will announce their hiring during the Red Sox-Yankees game. They’ll continue in the role until July 26th, shortly after the World Cup ends.

The 2026 World Cup is set to be the biggest one ever, featuring 48 teams competing in 104 matches. The games will be played in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

FOX isn’t the only company to go viral by offering fans a possible dream job.

In early 2026, Wendy’s revealed it was looking for someone to be their “Chief Tasting Officer” – a job that pays $100,000 to simply eat and review their food.

Pizza Hut then announced they were looking for someone to be a “Crust Connoisseur” – basically, a professional pizza taster – for an entire year.
