Fans of Marvel noticed that Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil, seems to have been edited out of the trailer for the upcoming Spider-Man game, and Cox hasn’t done anything to deny the speculation.
The first look at the upcoming sequel was released on March 18th. Tom Holland shared the footage from the Empire State Building in New York City at sunrise, symbolizing a fresh start. The clip hinted that Peter Parker’s powers are developing to include natural webbing, suggesting he’s becoming more focused on his Spider-Man identity than his personal life.
The trailer was packed with exciting references to comic books, featuring characters like Bruce Banner (played by Mark Ruffalo), The Punisher (Jon Bernthal), Scorpion (Michael Mando), and the ninja group known as The Hand.
Fans believe Marvel removed Daredevil from a significant scene in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer, and recent statements from Charlie Cox are adding to the speculation.
Fans think Daredevil is missing from The Hand fight in Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer

Many fans believe Daredevil will appear in the upcoming ‘Brand New Day’ storyline and assist Spider-Man in his fight against The Hand. They point to a slow-motion rooftop battle shown in the trailer where Spider-Man jumps towards a group of ninjas, and they’ve noticed a space that seems to be intentionally left for another hero – leading them to speculate it’s Daredevil.
Fans are speculating that Daredevil will appear in the upcoming Spider-Man film, pointing to editing similarities between fight scenes in the trailer and those in ‘No Way Home’ featuring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. One fan even declared they’ll be upset if Daredevil doesn’t team up with Spider-Man to fight The Hand, a group shown multiple times in the trailer.
So, why focus on Daredevil? The Hand are major villains for him in the comics and played a big role in the Netflix Daredevil show and the team-up series, The Defenders. While it’s not yet clear why they’re appearing in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day storyline, many fans believe it signals Daredevil will soon join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Charlie Cox is now acting like Andrew Garfield and claiming he has nothing to do with the Spider-Man: Brand New Day project.
So, Charlie Cox was on Jimmy Kimmel talking about Daredevil, and it was… weird. He basically said if he were in the upcoming movie, he’d say he wasn’t, but then immediately clarified he’s not actually in it. He even added he could be lying! Honestly, nobody buys that. Everyone thinks he’s playing it cool and is totally in the movie, even though he’s trying to deny it.
One online user compared the situation to Andrew Garfield’s appearance in No Way Home. Another pointed out the connections to Daredevil and Spider-Man, mentioning elements like The Hand, a new mayor, and the Punisher as clear clues. They jokingly welcomed the first user to the ‘Andrew Garfield club,’ suggesting a shared understanding of the potential crossover.
Matt Murdock made a cameo in the 2021 film No Way Home, offering Peter Parker legal assistance, but he didn’t appear as Daredevil. The new series might finally give fans what they’ve been waiting for by letting him become the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen again.
