As a result, on Friday, Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes mandated that internet service providers in Brazil should restrict access to X within their jurisdiction, which encompasses approximately 215 million people, as reported by the New York Times. Local news outlets indicated that those who employ a VPN to bypass this ban may be penalized with a fine of up to 50,000 reais ($8,900), according to the BBC.
