As a crypto investor with some experience under my belt, I find it fascinating to see how the cryptocurrency industry has managed to attract such high-profile figures. Donald Trump’s exposure to digital assets, particularly his substantial investment in the MAGA (TRUMP) meme coin, is quite intriguing. While he was once a vocal critic of crypto, recent reports suggest that he now holds over $7 million worth of digital assets and even accepts donations in the form of cryptocurrencies for his presidential campaign.
TL;DR
- Donald Trump has impressive exposure to digital assets, particularly the meme coin MAGA (TRUMP), despite his previous anti-crypto stance.
Other notable figures dealing with cryptocurrencies include Justin Bieber, Neymar Jr., Jimmy Fallon, and Kevin Hart.
Trump Leads the Pack
As a researcher studying the cryptocurrency industry, I’ve observed an impressive growth spurt over the past few years. Consequently, there has been a surge in individuals joining this ecosystem in various capacities. Notable personalities, including Donald Trump, have also ventured into this asset class.
Based on Arkham Intelligence’s report, it is revealed that the ex-president of the United States owns approximately $7 million in digital assets. Over half (65%) of his investment portfolio is allocated to the meme coin named MAGA (TRUMP).
This month, the price of the token experienced a significant increase after it was announced that Trump, who is running against Joe Biden in the upcoming presidential elections, is reportedly leading in five out of six crucial states: Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan, Georgia, and Nevada.
Other assets in Trump’s portfolio include Ethereum (ETH), USDC, Pepe (PEPE), and many more.
Despite most of Trump’s assets potentially being represented by other crypto industry members, it’s worth noting that he was previously a prominent critic. To refresh your memory, during his tenure as the 45th President of America, he denounced bitcoin (BTC) and the crypto realm as being founded on “nothing but thin air.”
Despite his previous opposition, he has recently adopted a more lenient attitude towards Bitcoin, expressing that he can coexist with it. Furthermore, he presented himself as the best option for those supporting the crypto industry, with his presidential campaign now accepting donations in digital currencies.
Who Else is Part of the Club?
Some widely recognized individuals, such as Justin Bieber and Neymar Jr., also hold crypto investments. The value of Justin Bieber’s portfolio exceeds $560,000, with Ethereum comprising around 10% of the total sum.
Neymar Jr., the renowned soccer star from Brazil, owns approximately $66,000 worth of digital assets. Around 85% of his portfolio is made up of Ethereum (ETH) and ApeCoin (APE).
As a crypto investor, I’m excited to be part of this dynamic ecosystem that includes prominent figures like Jimmy Fallon and Kevin Hart. Jimmy holds around $140,000 worth of cryptocurrencies in his portfolio, while Kevin currently boasts an approximate investment of $50,000. Their participation adds credibility and further fuels the growing interest in digital currencies.
It’s worth mentioning that some of the individuals previously cited have also engaged with NFTs. In January 2022, Justin Bieber made waves by acquiring an NFT from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection for approximately $1.3 million in ETH. However, the value of his NFT currently stands at around $45,000 – a significant decrease of nearly 96% from its initial worth.
