Destiny 2 Drang god rolls & how to get

Drang, a classic Destiny 2 hand cannon, is back with new perks from the Ash & Iron update and is quickly becoming a top choice for players in all activities.

It’s a great weapon on its own, but it also works exceptionally well with an Exotic weapon that hasn’t been useful for a long time, making it even more powerful.

The classic Destiny 2 Hand Cannon, Sturm, gets a significant power boost when used with the Drang weapon. Drang’s ‘Together Forever’ ability gives Sturm a large, temporary damage increase after you get kills, making the pair particularly effective.

You can use Drang either with its paired weapon or on its own, and both approaches work well. However, the best stats to focus on will depend on how you play – whether you prefer fighting environments (PvE) or player-versus-player combat (PvP).

Drang PvE & PvP god roll – Meta analysis

PvE God Roll
PvP God Roll
Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
Magazine: Tactical Mag
Perk 1: Heal Clip
Perk 2: Incandescent
Masterwork: Reload Speed
Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling
Magazine: Accurized Rounds
Perk 1: Moving Target
Perk 2: Eye of the Storm or Master of Arms
Masterwork: Range

If a weapon can roll both the “Heal Clip” and “Incandescent” perks, it’s usually a good choice for PvE builds. The Drang weapon has this combination, and while it doesn’t hit as hard as some Rocket Sidearms, it works really well alongside the Mint Retrograde rocket launcher.

To make this weapon even better in PvE, focus on increasing its Reload Speed with a Masterwork and its Handling with the Arrowhead Brake.

When it comes to player-versus-player combat, a couple of perks stand out. For your first perk slot, “Moving Target” is a must-have because it significantly improves your aim assistance. There aren’t really any good alternatives. For the second slot, both “Eye of the Storm” and “Master of Arms” are strong choices. I personally preferred “Eye of the Storm” during testing because it noticeably boosted my accuracy.

Outside of the above, all remaining perks should be funnelled towards increasing Range.

How to get Drang

You can now earn the Drang weapon by playing solo missions, Fireteam activities, and Crucible Ops within the Edge of Fate’s Portal system.

You can get Drang by finishing missions and activities, but the fastest way to collect it is to focus on those that specifically list Drang as a featured reward. Completing these will always give you at least one Drang.

That covers everything important about Drang, but it’s not the only powerful weapon in Destiny 2 right now. If you’re looking for more build ideas, check out our guides for Seraphine Haze and Submersion.
