ChudTheBuilder has bond revoked after court hears new details in courthouse shooting

Dalton Eatherly, who streams online as ChudTheBuilder, is now being held without bail in three existing Nashville cases. This happened after he was accused of firing a gun near the courthouse in another county.

I was shocked to hear that Eatherly, who’s only 28, had his bail revoked in court last month! He went before Judge Blackburn on June 17th because of the trouble he allegedly caused at a restaurant here in Nashville. It sounds like things are getting serious for him.

During the court hearing, an investigator showed video from the shooting at the Clarksville courthouse. The video revealed shots being fired before both Eatherly and Joshua Fox fell to the ground. Evidence from the video included a spent bullet casing and a bullet fragment hitting a concrete planter.

According to the investigator, the video showed Fox hadn’t been struck yet, as evidenced by the bullet’s ricochet and where the shell casing landed.

Judge Melissa Blackburn refused to release Eatherly in his Davidson County cases, pointing to threatening posts he made online, as reported from the courtroom. “Considering his behavior and what I’ve observed on social media,” Judge Blackburn explained, “I believe a release is inappropriate.”

So, I just heard that things haven’t gone well for Eatherly. The judge basically said he can’t use that old bond to try and get out of jail regarding those cases in Nashville anymore. And unfortunately, he’s still stuck in Montgomery County—his bail is still a million dollars there because of the shooting at the courthouse.

Why ChudTheBuilder’s bond was revoked

So, I heard this guy, Eatherly, had just gotten out of jail on bond in Davidson County, but then he was arrested again in Clarksville just a few days later. The really messed up part? One of the rules of his release was that he couldn’t commit any new crimes. Talk about a quick trip back to jail!

The situation in Nashville began on May 9th at Bob’s Steak and Chop in the Omni Hotel. According to police, a man named Eatherly ordered $371.55 worth of food and drinks, but refused to pay when asked by staff to stop broadcasting live online.

The Tennessean reported that police say Eatherly caused a disturbance and used racially charged language when asked to leave the establishment. Before exiting, he reportedly told employees he wouldn’t pay his bill if they were going to kick him out.

Officers located the man near Broadway and 2nd Avenue South. He was then arrested and faced charges including stealing services, causing a disturbance, and fighting against police.

On May 13th, several days after the initial event, Eatherly was arrested following a shooting near the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville. Police reported that the shooting started as an argument between Eatherly and another man, Joshua Fox, and both men were injured.

So, this guy Eatherly is in serious trouble over in Montgomery County. They’re hitting him with attempted murder, plus a bunch of other charges like using a gun during a felony, aggravated assault, and just being reckless with a weapon. The judge set his bail at a million bucks – seriously! And if he does manage to post that, he’s got a strict curfew: 9 PM to 5 AM. It’s pretty wild.

Okay, so this isn’t a simple fix for getting released. The bond issue in Davidson County doesn’t cancel out the one in Montgomery County – it just makes things even harder. Basically, I’m facing charges in both places now, and I need to clear hurdles in both counties to even have a shot at getting out. It’s like double the trouble!
