He’s become well-known for his roles in Marvel Cinematic Universe films and action movies like Extraction. Now, he’s starring in a gripping new thriller that many believe could be one of the year’s best crime films. A recently released trailer offers fans another exciting preview of the movie from Amazon MGM Studios.
The film stars Chris Hemsworth alongside Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan, and Halle Berry, with Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nick Nolte providing excellent supporting roles. Directed by Bart Layton, Crime 101 is based on the novella of the same name by Don Winslow and will be released in theaters on February 13, 2026. Here’s what the movie is about:
In the sun-drenched city of Los Angeles, “Crime 101” tells the story of a mysterious thief (Chris Hemsworth) who has been pulling off daring robberies along the famous 101 freeway, leaving the police baffled. When he plans one last, massive heist, his plans intersect with an insurance broker (Halle Berry) at a turning point in her own life, and they find themselves working together.
A determined detective (Mark Ruffalo) is getting closer to solving the case, which is quickly becoming more dangerous. As a multi-million dollar robbery nears, it becomes hard to tell who is chasing whom, and all involved must face the consequences of their actions – realizing they’ve gone too far to stop now.
Halle Berry Says Chris Hemsworth Was Her “Stand-Up Guy” on ‘Crime 101’
The new film, Crime 101, reunites Marvel actors Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo. It also marks the first time Halle Berry and Hemsworth have shared the screen. At a CinemaCon event in 2025, Berry praised Hemsworth for supporting her on set, saying his actions earned her lasting gratitude.
He’s a really good person. There was a specific incident on set where he supported me, and in that moment, I knew I’d admire and respect him forever because he defended a woman.
While at the event, E! News spoke with Halle Berry about the movie. She mentioned Chris’s strong support for her, saying, “He really went above and beyond for me.”

Even though Chris Hemsworth is a major Hollywood actor, he admitted to feeling nervous about acting with Halle Berry. He explained that about Berry:
I’ve been a fan of Halle’s work for a long time, so I was definitely a little nervous acting alongside her. It was hard not to be completely impressed by her performance! But she also created a really comfortable and supportive environment where I felt free to experiment with ideas and try new things. It was a wonderful experience, and I enjoyed every moment.
