The Elder Scrolls Online shifted away from large expansions last year, opting for smaller, seasonal updates. This year’s ‘Gold Road’ marked the end of their original content strategy and the start of a new approach. After a somewhat slow adjustment in 2025 and recent layoffs at the development studio, many long-time players feared the game might be winding down. However, the announced plans for 2026 and beyond suggest a surprisingly active and evolving future. Only time will tell if these changes are positive for the game.

The team hasn’t shared any updates about their next project, sparking curiosity about what they’re working on. However, a recent rumor hints they might be developing something that Lord of the Rings fans will love.

Warhorse Studios has addressed the recent concerns, but hasn’t said whether or not it used AI for translation. They’ve declined to discuss the specific situation, simply stating they are a studio focused on skilled employees and value their team.

Nintendo Life noticed that the servers for The Elder Scrolls: Blades will shut down permanently on June 30th. This shutdown affects all versions of the game, not just the Switch version, and includes the mobile app.

Players can now create the Duelo Pact and play as Carmo, a new Ancestor with the skills of a quick-witted sailor. He uses the rapier Navalha, a powerful new one-handed sword, and players can craft the Mestra armor set using gathered materials. Updates also include the Fallen Ode Skytower to explore, a new way to progress with the character Orlick, and a new Wolf Mount to ride.

A message in the game says all players will get a free pack of Gems and Sigils to experience everything Blades has to offer. It also thanks players for playing and hopes they enjoyed their time in the game.

Monster Hunter Stories 3 launched on March 13th and is already a hit with fans. As the third game in the Monster Hunter Stories series, it’s being praised for its engaging JRPG gameplay, which centers around raising and breeding powerful monsters called Monsties. The combat system blends elements from the main Monster Hunter games, letting players target specific enemy parts to reduce their attack power. Capcom recently announced a free update will be coming to the game just a few weeks after its release.

Capcom isn’t treating this update as just a small addition. According to producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, players with fully leveled Riders (level 90 and above) will face challenging battles requiring their best Monsties and tactics. This means the update is designed for endgame players, not those still in the middle of the game. Several gaming sites, including Siliconera, RPG Site, and Nintendo Life, all agree on this point.

I was pretty bummed to hear that The Elder Scrolls: Blades is shutting down. I remember when it first came out on mobile back in 2019, and then later on the Switch in 2020. It’s been a while since they updated it, so honestly, it wasn’t a huge shock. They sent a message in the game saying the servers will be turned off on June 30th, and since there’s no way to play it offline, that’s it – the game is over. It’s already gone from the app stores and the Nintendo eShop, which is kind of sad.

When the update launches, players level 90 and above will be able to challenge the new Royal Monsters. Capcom also says that the next part of the story, featuring Rudy, is progressing well and they’re looking at releasing it sooner than originally planned.
