I’m really excited about the upcoming series, This Summer Will Be Different! I heard they’re shooting on location in Prince Edward Island and also in Toronto, which sounds beautiful. The adaptation is being led by Dane Clark, who I know from Suze and One More Time, and Linsey Stewart – she’s done great work on Workin’ Moms and North of North. They’re not just writing and running the show, but also executive producing it with a fantastic team including Fortune, Jennifer Kawaja, and Elise Cousineau, all through Sphere Media. It sounds like it’s in really good hands!

The new thriller arrives in theaters on January 23rd. Chris Pratt and Laura Ferguson star as adversaries in a high-stakes courtroom drama. Pratt plays Detective Chris Raven, who must prove his innocence after being accused of his wife’s murder. He has only 90 minutes to convince Judge Maddox, played by Ferguson – an AI judge who provides all the evidence needed to build his defense.

Even though the Vulture Movies Fantasy League season for 2025-26 is over, I can’t help but dive into all the data! Honestly, one of my favorite parts of the season is looking back at the numbers – seeing which movies really delivered, and which picks were genius (or, let’s be real, not so much!). It’s way more complex than just picking the movie that eventually wins Best Picture. The team has put together some amazing charts and visuals to break down how everything played out, so come celebrate your wins and maybe have a little commiseration over the ones that didn’t quite pan out!

It’s disappointing for fans that the planned Buffy reboot, which Chloé Zhao was going to direct, won’t happen on Hulu, but it’s common for TV networks to cancel promising reboots. HBO Max, for instance, canceled The Boondocks reboot in 2022, even after ordering two seasons, and Disney+ scrapped the Lizzie McGuire revival in 2020, despite filming two episodes. Hulu had only ordered a pilot for Buffy, which is standard practice – networks create pilots to decide whether to move forward with a full season. Even HBO, known for supporting creative projects, regularly declines pilots, even expensive ones based on popular franchises, as Naomi Watts and George R.R. Martin can attest. Pilots failing to get picked up is simply a normal part of the TV industry.

The memory wipe affected everyone, including Peter’s girlfriend, MJ, and his best friend, Ned. Now, Peter is facing a painful surprise: MJ has a new boyfriend. A trailer clip shows this new boyfriend sweetly interacting with MJ at a party while Peter watches, clearly upset.

The ending of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 featured a surprisingly emotional and even heroic death for Dr. Ivo Robotnik, and also showed his grandfather, Gerald (both played by Jim Carrey), dying in space. These events led many to believe that Carrey might not return to play Sonic’s villain, particularly with the introduction of Metal Sonic.

Gellar expressed concern about potential leaks, saying she hoped the project remained under wraps. She explained that the work wasn’t completed, and it wasn’t a finished season that was simply shelved. She drew a comparison to the movie ‘Batgirl,’ which was made but never released, emphasizing that this project was still in progress.

Although many films have used this kind of storytelling, The Godfather Part II did it exceptionally well, and it was remarkably effective. Even today, the film stands out as a brilliant example of how to successfully weave together two different storylines, and few movies have done it better.

I was so relieved to hear about Spacey’s release! It means he can finally get back to what he’s passionate about – performing! I always loved his storytelling and, honestly, the image of him tap-dancing for wealthy clients across Europe is just fantastic. It’s wonderful he’s able to pursue that again.

Ryan Gosling has let slip that the upcoming Star Wars film, Starfighter, will feature physical puppets. When asked about how the movie is being made, he simply confirmed their use, saying, “Yeah, I think I can say that.”
