The popular horror series Scream successfully updated itself with the 2022 film by carefully blending the old with the new. It did this by featuring a new generation of main characters, commenting on how fans interact with horror movies today, and still including beloved characters like Sidney Prescott, Gale Weathers, and Dewey Riley. This showed the franchise could grow and change while staying true to what made it popular in the first place.

Adapting H.P. Lovecraft’s stories for film and television is difficult because his monsters and horrors are intentionally vague and hard to picture. As a result, there aren’t many direct movie or TV versions of his tales. However, his influence – the feeling of cosmic dread and hidden terrors – can be seen in many other stories across different genres.

Pascale Krakow, who plays Elizabeth, even shared a really sweet message on Instagram welcoming Lori back. She recently told Us Weekly that she’s especially excited about the scenes they’ll get to film together, and also about how Abigail’s return will affect Elizabeth and Henry’s relationship. Honestly, it sounds like it’s going to be a really heartwarming season!

However, their happily ever after might be threatened by a new challenge: some troublesome podcasters.

Clint Eastwood’s portrayal of the Man with No Name in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly gave us the famous line, “In this world, there’s two kinds of people…”. John Wayne also delivered many memorable lines in films like Stagecoach and The Searchers. You might assume one of those two legendary actors created the most quoted character in Westerns, but surprisingly, the honor goes to someone else – an actor not typically known for Westerns.

Generally, it’s unlikely that many of these films will get sequels, though there are a few exceptions. But if you’re hoping to see more of the stories you love, comic books often continue where the movies leave off.
