Emma Stone is producing the film with her close friend, Jennifer Lawrence, but neither of them will be starring in the main role. Stone explained to W magazine that they wouldn’t be right for the part, saying they don’t measure up. Despite their combined three Oscar wins, neither actress has ever worked with Joan Rivers. Stone jokingly added that if Miss Piggy heard about this, she’d be furious – Miss Piggy would play Miss Piggy, and wouldn’t tolerate the suggestion of anyone else. Stone says Kermit the Frog will be getting an earful about this later that night.

Even better, David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult are both set to return as Superman and Lex Luthor, which I think is fantastic casting. I can’t wait to see what Gunn has in store for us!
