Why Players Want to Kill All the Sharks in Raft (and the Great Debate on Dolphins!)
In the challenging seas of Raft, it’s hard to ignore the predatory behavior of sharks. A player commented, “Sharks aren’t as aggressive/dangerous as they seem.” This brings up an intriguing thought: although players might assume these enormous sea creatures are the deadliest adversaries, they could discover that while caution is necessary, death isn’t always imminent. As each spear is thrown to ward off a shark, there’s a growing feeling that these characters are simply misunderstood marine inhabitants defending their territory. However, the presence of sharks plays a significant role in gameplay. The anxiety they provoke adds a sense of urgency to otherwise tranquil resource-gathering activities. Players frequently find themselves tensing up, not just because of the water, but also due to the uncertainty of a shark attack.
