Yakuza Kiwami 3 Announced–And It’s Got A Big Expansion Attached

During a recent presentation, director Ryosuke Horii shared more details about the updates coming to the game. Beyond adding new story moments, many of the cutscenes and voice acting from the original Yakuza 3 have been completely re-created for Kiwami 3. The Okinawa locations, a memorable part of Yakuza 3, have also been rebuilt from the ground up. The combat system has been overhauled, letting players switch between Kiryu’s established fighting style and a brand-new “Ryukyu Style” inspired by Okinawan martial arts and featuring more weapon-based attacks. Finally, a new “Dragon Boost” mode makes Kiryu’s already powerful moves even more devastating.
