Neon Genesis Evangelion Celebrates 30 Years in Style With Vintage Tee Collection

Watching Neon Genesis Evangelion was a really unique experience. It completely changed what I expected from giant robot anime. Instead of focusing on cool robots and battles, it delved deep into the characters’ feelings, their mental health struggles, and how past trauma affects them. The ending was definitely strange and confusing for some, but it didn’t diminish the series’ impact. It’s now considered a classic, and I can see why it inspired so many creators. You can really see its influence in shows like Serial Experiments Lain and Gurren Lagann, and even in Western animation like Rick and Morty and Steven Universe. It’s clear Anno’s work left a lasting mark.

Final Fantasy 14’s next expansion ushers in an ice age and adds in an Evangelion crossover for good measure

Alongside many other updates, a new Alliance Raid was announced for update 8.0, and it’s a really exciting collaboration with the classic anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. Called “Ghosts of Desire,” the raid will feature Eva Unit-01 and music from the show, based on a recent trailer. While details are scarce, I’m confident we’ll see outfits inspired by the characters Rei and Asuka.

FF14’s Evangelion Collab Trailer Features Strange Copyright Restriction

A major highlight of the event was the announcement of a new series of alliance raids based on Neon Genesis Evangelion. These raids will be available with the Evercold content update, which isn’t expected until January 2027 at the earliest. What makes this collaboration so remarkable is its size and the fact that Square Enix doesn’t own the Evangelion intellectual property. This also creates a slightly awkward situation for content creators and streamers.
