Reports indicate that Jisoo, a member of the K-pop group BLACKPINK, has a brother who was recently arrested in South Korea. The arrest is connected to an investigation into allegations of sexual assault and blackmail targeting a female streamer.
Reports from South Korean media say police arrested a man in his 30s, believed to be Kim Jung Hoon – the older brother of singer Jisoo – on April 16th. He is suspected of sexual misconduct, and the police are currently investigating the situation.
Okay, so here’s what I’ve heard about this whole situation. Apparently, this guy spent a ton of money – like, 500 raffle tickets! – for a chance to go on a date with this SOOP streamer. It’s basically a paid thing where you meet them for dinner, you know? Well, after they had dinner and drinks, he allegedly took her back to his place and things got really bad – he’s accused of physically touching her without her consent. It’s a really messed up situation, and honestly, it’s disturbing to hear about.
Streamer reportedly sexually assaulted after viewer wins date
The woman stated she told the man multiple times she wasn’t interested, but he kept trying to assault her. Officers arrived and took him into custody. He acknowledged touching her, but claimed it wasn’t forceful.
New accusations have emerged, suggesting the suspect, or someone working with them, threatened to share unauthorized photos of the victim. Investigators are now also looking into possible blackmail and illegal recording as part of their investigation into the alleged assault.

After Kim was arrested, the victim received a threatening photo through KakaoTalk from an account based in Hong Kong. The message warned that revealing photos were coming soon and demanded the victim “fix the problem” before they went viral. When the victim pleaded for it to stop, the sender reportedly responded cruelly, saying they would make the victim’s parents ill.
This case has become popular online, mainly because of claims that a family member of BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is involved. However, there’s no evidence to suggest Jisoo herself knew about or participated in what happened.
As of right now, I haven’t seen any official word from Jisoo or her company about what’s going on. It’s a little worrying not knowing, honestly, and I’m hoping they’ll share something soon.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no final ruling has been made.
