This news comes as Delroy Lindo is nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role as Delta Slim, a harmonica player in a 2025 vampire film, with the awards ceremony taking place in 2026.

What were Delroy Lindo’s thoughts on Black Panther 3?

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, actor Chadwick Lindo revealed he’d love to work with director Ryan Coogler again on a third Black Panther movie. Coogler reportedly told him he’d only offer him a role if it was a significant one, worthy of Lindo’s talents.

Lindo revealed he told Ryan Coogler he’d be interested in appearing in Black Panther 3 if the opportunity arose. Coogler responded by saying he’d only offer Lindo a role that he felt was substantial enough for his talent, which Lindo appreciated. He explained that while Coogler didn’t say it exactly that way, that was the general idea, and he respected the sentiment.

Ryan Coogler revealed last December that work on Black Panther 3 is well underway. Recent reports indicate the movie could begin filming in London on June 15, 2026. In addition to Letitia Wright reprising her role as Shuri, Denzel Washington, an Academy Award winner, may join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the third Black Panther film, following hints that Coogler had written a role specifically for him.

There’s been talk that Damson Idris, known for his role in Snowfall, could be the next Black Panther. While the studio hasn’t officially announced anything, he was seen with Angela Bassett—who played Queen Ramonda in Black Panther—at a recent event where she was dressed as her character. In addition to Letitia Wright, Winston Duke (M’Baku) and Tenoch Mejia Huerta (Namor) from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever are also expected to be in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
