As a seasoned Honkai: Star Rail player with countless hours spent strategizing and optimizing my teams, I can confidently say that Moze is a true gem of a character. With his unique ability to shift aggro away from himself, he creates a dynamic that greatly benefits characters like Yunli or Clara, allowing them to unleash their follow-up attacks more frequently.
In the world of Honkai: Star Rail, as Moze, I specialize in dishing out high single-target damage and following up my attacks, much like Hunt March 7th. However, what sets me apart is my wallet-friendly price tag compared to Topaz, making me a tempting choice for players who want strong Follow-up Attack (FUA) synergy without breaking the bank on premium characters. My unique talent lies in marking enemies with the Prey debuff, which boosts their vulnerability to FUA damage, thereby amplifying our team’s overall DPS output.
As a gamer in Honkai: Star Rail, I’ve found that while Moze can dish out a ton of damage, his true calling is supporting other FUA (Flexible Unit Assembly) focused characters as a secondary DPS. What Moze does best is boosting the overall team power by debuffing enemies, which really shines in follow-up attack teams. Though he may not be super versatile, Moze can slot into various team compositions based on the FUA characters I have at my disposal. Here are a few team suggestions, taking character availability and synergy into account.
Premium Team: Moze + Feixiao + Robin + Aventurine
The most premium team composition for Moze revolves around Feixiao, as they have exceptional synergy due to their reliance on allies attacking a specific enemy to trigger their respective kit’s stack mechanics. Moze requires enemies marked with Prey to be attacked multiple times to launch his follow-up, which aligns perfectly with Feixiao’s need to stack for her Ultimate. This makes them a powerful duo when played correctly, as they can frequently activate their abilities and unleash devastating follow-up attacks.
To boost team harmony even more, Robin is an excellent team player because she excels at strengthening allies, particularly amplifying the damage of subsequent attacks, and propelling them ahead, thus allowing for multiple attacks within the same turn. In terms of endurance, Aventurine stands out as the top choice due to her consistent shielding abilities and follow-up attacks. These additional attacks help Moze and Feixiao initiate even more follow-ups.
Since your squad includes top-tier characters such as Feixiao, Robin, and Aventurine, some players might find it challenging to gather the entire roster, especially since Feixiao and Robin are available during the same banner period. However, don’t worry, there are alternatives. For instance, if you’re missing Aventurine, Gallagher can be a solid substitute for sustain. He attacks more often than most sustain characters, ensuring your team maintains its FUA cycle effectively, even though he might not provide the same follow-up attack synergies as Aventurine does.
Aggro Control Follow Up Team: Moze + Yunli + Tingyun + Lynx
Additionally, Moze shares a special tactical bond with characters such as Yunli and Clara, who are particularly effective when enemies attack them. Moze’s talent to temporarily withdraw from the battlefield redirects the attention of the opponents towards him, making it more probable for characters like Yunli to retaliate more frequently. This results in a potent interplay where Yunli can launch her subsequent attacks more consistently, utilizing Moze’s tactical disappearance to her advantage.
Contrasting with the Feixiao-focused group, this setup needs less high-tier characters to achieve a harmonious synergy. For instance, together with Yunli (or Clara), characters like Tingyun and Lynx offer powerful supporting roles. Tingyun notably enhances Yunli, primarily by generating energy for her, which is crucial for maximizing the usage of Yunli’s Ultimate. Meanwhile, Lynx functions as a durable choice by increasing Yunli’s chances of being attacked, thereby amplifying her retaliatory strikes. This team excels in scenarios such as Memory of Chaos (MoC), where single-target assaults are more common than full area-of-effect situations.
If you’re prioritizing Yunli’s ultimate move over her subsequent attacks while preserving Moze’s harmony, Huohuo could be a suitable substitute. Known for its strong energy generation abilities, Huohuo can supply the whole team with energy, enabling Yunli to use her ultimate move more often. This strategy offers a balance between maximizing Yunli’s total damage output and ensuring Moze remains an essential follow-up character.
F2P Friendly Team: Moze + Dr. Ratio + Hunt March 7th + Gallagher
Dr. Ratio is among the select 5-star characters that players can acquire at no cost, and his compatibility with teams focusing on follow-up attacks makes Moze an excellent choice for a team composition that doesn’t necessitate any limited 5-star characters. Moze offers significant advantages to Dr. Ratio by applying two debuffs through his Prey ability and one of his traces, all without the need for Eidolons. This support from Moze significantly boosts Dr. Ratio’s damage capacity.
Starting from March 7th, the team from Eidolon 2 (E2) could benefit from the addition of a member who can deliver consecutive attacks and reinforce Dr. Ratio with protective shields. In the final slot, Gallagher is an excellent choice for sustained combat due to his ability to impose debuffs on enemies, which are advantageous for Dr. Ratio. Furthermore, his higher-than-average attack frequency compared to other sustain characters can aid in building up Moze’s stack count, thereby enhancing the team’s overall efficiency.
If you’re considering alternatives for March 7th, Jiaoqiu could be another strong option. He is capable of intensifying enemy debuffs, boosting Dr. Ratio’s offensive potential and increasing team harmony, particularly in a strategy that focuses on applying debuffs in a follow-up attack sequence.
